This invention relates to PAI-2 and its expression as a recombinant molecule in eukaryotic cell lines as a glycosylated secreted molecule, to the constructs expressing it, to host cells expressing it, to compositions comprising it, to methods of treatment, prophylaxis and diagnosis using it and to antibodies raised against it. The invention also provides a 414 amino acid form of PAI-2 wherein the N-terminal methionine residue is deleted, a 60 kD glycosylated secreted recombinant form of PAI-2 and compositions and methods using these molecules. The invention further relates to a novel synthetic signal peptide.

Variants of the plasminogen activator inhibitor PAI-2 in which the 66-98 amino acid residue region has been altered to eliminate at least one protease sensitive site are provided. The variants of the invention maintain the biological activity of PAI-2 and amino acids up to 65 and from 99 of PAI-2 in frame. The PAI-2 variants of the invention in labelled form, as well as DNA molecules encoding the variants of the invention, transformed host cells expressing the variants of the invention compositions and diagnostic kits comprising the variants of the invention, antibodies against the variants of the invention and processes for the production of the variants, DNA molecules, transformed hosts, compositions and antibodies of the invention are also described.

A photoconductive switching device is disclosed that has an enhanced speed f response so that its closed (low) and open (high) resistive states are obtained in response to optical illumination in the less than nanosecond regime. The enhanced speed of response is achieved by neutron irradiation of a material preferably comprising GaAs:Si:Cu. An application of the improved photoconductive switching devices is disclosed which allows the realization of a high-power, frequency-agile RF source topology.

This disclosure relates to the synthesis by application of recombinant DNA technology of recombinant reovirus nonstructural protein sigma NS and its use as a non-specific binding agent for single stranded (ss) RNA's. This property of sigma NS protein can be employed when it is used as a reagent in protecting unstable RNA during extraction processes and more significantly as a reagent for the concentration of (ss) RNA samples for use in hybridization probe assays.

Side access doors 58, 64 and 70 are provided for the driver's compartment, first passenger compartment 60 and second passenger compartment 66, respectively.
