摘要: The invention relates to a device for negative pressure wound therapy comprising (a) a cover material for air-tight sealing of the wound space; (b) as applicable, a means for the connection of a negative pressure source; and (c) a wound dressing comprising an open-cell polyurethane foam whereby the open-cell polyurethane foam has special properties, in particular a tensile strength after three days of storage in bovine serum, measured in accordance with DIN 53571, between 80 kPa and 300 kPa. The invention further relates to the use of said open-cell polyurethane foam for use as a wound dressing in negative pressure wound therapy.

摘要: A method and apparatus are provided for directly measuring the ice fraction in an ice slurry. Spaced electrodes measure the electrical property of the slurry, such as capacitance across the electrodes, or alternatively conductance or other electrical characteristics. That signal is then translated into an ice fraction by a microprocessor or controller.

摘要: An embedded security system for an environment-controlled trailer including a transportation refrigeration unit. The security system includes a plurality of sensors mounted to the trailer and a communication device embedded in the transportation refrigeration unit of the trailer, the communication device being configured to receive data from the plurality of sensors, and to send the received data to a controller being remote from the trailer. The controller is configured to monitor the security status of the trailer and to determine a security risk at the trailer based, at least in part, on the received data.

摘要: The invention is related to an implant, in particular a bone replacement implant for insertion into a bone cavity, or an intervertebral implant for insertion between two adjacent vertebral bodies of a human or animal spine. The implant can be brought from a normal position, in which the implant encompasses a maximum total volume, into an insertion position, in which the implant encompasses an insertion volume, which is smaller than the maximum total volume. Moreover, the implant has a plurality of cavities in fluidic connection with one another, and a net volume encompassed in the normal position by the plurality of cavities in fluidic connection with one another is smaller than the maximum total volume, which allows insertion of the implant through as small as possible an opening in a human or animal body while maintaining a high inherent stability.
