    摘要: For producing steel pipe from thick steel plate, an up-set shrinker is employed for reducing and processing an O-shaped pipe-blank in a facility for producing thick wall steel pipe. The up-set shrinker is provided with a plurality of reducing shrinker dies located around the pipe-blank in correspondence to parts other than abutting parts of the edges of the pipe-blank, and with at least one edge processing shrinker die located in correspondence to the butting parts of the edges of the pipe-blank. The edge processing shrinker die is formed at its die surface with a projecting portion over the length of the die. The edge processing shrinker die is actuated independently of the reducing shrinker dies.

    摘要: A process for crystal growth of III-V group compound semiconductor, which comprises pyrolyzing, in a gas phase, a material consisting of an organometallic compound and/or a hydride in the presence of an organic compound containing an oxygen atom-carbon atom direct bond, used as a dopant to grow a III-V group compound semiconductor crystal layer containing at least aluminum, of high electric resistance. Said process can grow a compound semiconductor layer of high electric resistance by the use of a dopant which enables the independent controls of oxygen concentration and aluminum concentration and which has a small effect of oxygen remaining.

    摘要: A plurality of different fault locating functions are provided in a communication system comprising a plurality of terminals connected to a data transmission channel. The functions are at different levels, respectively, ranging from a level for rapid fault location to a level for reliable and sure fault location. Upon detection of an occurrence of a fault, one fault locating function is performed. If the fault is not located accurately located, another fault locating function of a level for more reliable is performed, thus the functions are performed sequentially in the order from the level for rapid location to the level for more deliberate and reliable location. Preferably, the channel is reconfigured to avoid the fault, according to the fault located by the functions of the respective levels. With this arrangement, a fault which does most possibly occur can be located quickly, while another fault difficult to locate can be located accurately.
