Abstract:
In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may determine a plurality of TCP ACKs, and at least one of TCP data or UDP data for a multi-user transmission to a set of STAs. The apparatus may allocate the plurality of TCP ACKs to a PPDU before allocating the at least one of the TCP data and the UDP data to the PPDU. In certain aspects, the plurality of TCP ACKs may be frequency division multiplexed in the PPDU. In certain other aspects, the apparatus may transmit, to the set of STAs, the multi-user transmission including at least the plurality of frequency division multiplexed TCP ACKs.
Abstract:
In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may determine a set of STAs for at least one of a MU-MIMO transmission or an OFDMA transmission. In certain aspects, the set of STAs may be associated with a set of acceptable MCSs determined based on MCSs excluded from a union of a plurality of sets of unacceptable MCSs. In certain other aspects, each set of unacceptable MCSs in the plurality of sets of unacceptable MCSs may be associated with a different STA in the set of STAs. The apparatus may transmit the at least one of the MU-MIMO transmission or the OFDMA transmission to the set of STAs.
Abstract:
A device includes a memory, a processor, and a transceiver. The memory is configured to store capability data corresponding to a set of stations. The processor is configured to select, based at least in part on the capability data, one of a multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) mode or an orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA) mode for wireless communication with a subset of the set of stations. The transceiver is configured to wirelessly communicate with the subset in the selected one of the MU-MIMO mode or the OFDMA mode.
Abstract:
Apparatuses and methods for separately scheduling and grouping multiple wireless local area network (WLAN) users are disclosed. The apparatuses and methods include scheduling, at an access point (AP), multiple wireless stations (STAs) associated with the AP; identifying based at least in part on the ranking, a group of STAs from the STAs for transmission of data over a single orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA) frame in a WLAN; and providing information resulting from scheduling the STAs and identifying the group of STAs to at least one of the STAs. In others aspects, the apparatuses and methods include receiving at an STA from an AP, scheduling information for a group of STAs including the STA; and transmitting based on the scheduling information, data over an OFDMA frame in an unlicensed or shared spectrum, the STA having a traffic load different from the traffic load of the at least one additional STA.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for deferral based on basic service set identification (BSSID) information. According to certain aspects, a method for wireless communications is provided. The method generally includes receiving, on a shared access medium, a packet having at least one deferral-related parameter and deciding whether to defer transmission on the shared access medium based, at least in part, on the deferral-related parameter. Another method may generally include generating a packet comprising at least one deferral-related parameter to be used by another apparatus for deciding whether or not the other apparatus should defer transmitting on a shared access medium and providing the packet to the other apparatus.
Abstract:
A service provider device of a local communication network communicates a first frame with an electric vehicle via a first communication medium to associate with the electric vehicle, establish a communication link with the electric vehicle, and to add the electric vehicle to the local communication network. After an association process between the electric vehicle and the service provider device is successfully completed, the electric vehicle and/or the service provider device can execute operations that extend the utility of their respective communication devices by switching to a new communication medium. By switching to the new communication medium, the electric vehicle and/or the service provider device can connect to a remote communication network. The service provider device communicates a second frame with at least a network device of the remote communication network via the new communication medium.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides techniques for grouping in multi-user multiple-input-multiple-output (MU-MIMO) systems by using limited probing. With more wireless stations (STAs) being used in MU-MIMO groups, the probing used to obtain packet error metrics to determine the throughput for selecting the MU-MIMO groups for transmission can become more complex and involve a larger overhead. To reduce the probing overhead, various techniques are described in this disclosure. For example, an access point (AP) can identify a trigger to initiate a packet error probing. In response to the trigger, the AP embeds one or more probing packets that are part of the packet error probing within a short interframe space (SIFS)-burst data transmission process to take advantage of the existing structure of the process. Then, the AP can update at least one packet error metric (e.g., packet error rate or PER) based on feedback received in response to the probing packets.
Abstract:
A feature-capable device that supports channel reuse can execute operations for determining whether to reuse or share a communication channel with a neighbor network when a local network (that comprises the feature-capable device) and/or the neighbor network comprise legacy devices that do not support adaptive channel reuse feature. The feature-capable device can determine channel performance measurements associated with each legacy device in the local network and/or the neighbor network and can compare the channel performance measurements against corresponding performance thresholds. The local network and the neighbor network can reuse the channel if the channel performance measurements associated with all the legacy devices are in accordance with the corresponding performance thresholds. The local network and the neighbor network can share the channel if the channel performance measurements of at least one of the legacy devices is not in accordance with the corresponding performance thresholds.
