    摘要: Systems and methods for time synchronization for clocks separated by a communication link allow a master clock to be positioned at a downstream-facing port or an upstream-facing port and to send synchronization commands with an associated time stamp embedded in transport layer protocol (TLP) prefixes to a slave clock. The slave clock may update its time value based on the received time stamp. Further, the slave may calculate a round trip delay between the master clock and the slave clock and use this delay calculation to correct the slave clock. The delay calculation may likewise be made using TLP prefixes. By using TLP prefixes in this fashion, the time synchronization can piggyback on existing message traffic, which reduces signaling overhead. Likewise, by using the TLP prefixes, the time synchronization may be initiated from either an upstream-facing port or a downstream-facing port.

    摘要: Security techniques for a Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) express (PCIE) system include a transport layer protocol (TLP) packet that has a prepended TLP prefix indicating the security features of the TLP packet and an integrity check value (ICV) appended to the TLP packet. The ICV is based on the TLP packet and any TLP prefixes including a security prefix. At a receiver, if the ICV does not match, then the receiver has evidence that the TLP packet may have been subjected to tampering. Further, the TLP packet may be encrypted to prevent snooping, and this feature would be indicated in the TLP prefix. Still further, the TLP prefix may include a counter that may be used to prevent replay attacks. PCIE contemplates flexible TLP prefixes, and thus, the standard readily accommodates the addition of a TLP prefix which indicates the security features of the TLP packet.

    摘要: Systems and methods for in-band reset and wake up on a differential audio bus are disclosed. In particular, after entering a low-power mode, a master device opens a drain on a transistor driving the differential audio bus. When a slave device needs the bus to wake, the slave device may transition the state of the bus. On detecting the transition of the bus, the master device may reassert control of the state of the bus and hold the bus in this new state until ready to issue a synchronization sequence. Likewise, an additional aspect of the present disclosure provides a distinctive sequence of holding the bus at a predefined state for an extended duration interrupted by a relatively brief reversal of the state that triggers a reset of all slave devices on the audio bus.

    摘要: A virtualized Internet Protocol (IP) packet processing system is provided. In this regard, in one aspect, a computing circuit for processing IP packets is shared among a plurality of virtual clients. The computing circuit includes a plurality of hardware functional blocks each configured to perform a predefined IP packet processing function. In another aspect, a virtual channel is created for each of the virtual clients and assigned with one or more of the hardware functional blocks. In this regard, IP packets associated with each of the virtual clients may be processed by respective assigned hardware functional blocks based on a specified processing sequence. By sharing the computing circuit among the virtual clients and assigning respective hardware functional blocks to each virtual client, it is possible to optimize processing efficiency of the computing circuit, thus improving throughput, latency, and power consumption of the virtualized IP packet processing system.

    摘要: Techniques for performing WLAN system scanning and selection are described. A terminal performs multiple iterations of scan to detect for WLAN systems. A scan list containing at least one WLAN system to detect for is initially determined. For each scan iteration, a scan type may be selected from among the supported scan types. The selected scan type may indicate passive scan or active scan, frequency channels to scan, etc. A scan may be performed based on the selected scan type. Signal strength measurements are obtained for access points received during the scan and used to identify detected access points. After all scan iterations are completed, candidates access points are identified based on the scan results, e.g., based on the signal strength measurements for the detected access points and a detection threshold. The best candidate access point may be selected for association by the terminal.

    摘要: Removable memory card type detection systems and methods are disclosed. In one aspect, a removable memory card is inserted into a receptacle of a host. The host determines a type of removable memory card based upon either electrical or physical properties of the removable memory card. In this manner, if the host detects that the removable memory card possesses certain electrical or physical properties associated with a microSD card, the host determines that the removable memory card is a microSD type card. If the host detects that the removable memory card possesses certain electrical or physical properties associated with a UFS card, the host determines that the removable memory card is a UFS type card. By determining the card type based on detection of certain electrical or physical properties, aspects disclosed herein are able to distinguish between UFS and microSD cards without requiring an additional pin or card initialization time.

A communication link between a host and a device may include a clock line, a host to device line, and a device to host line. The host may signal a start or stop condition using the clock line and the device may send an acknowledgment of the host's signaling through the device to host line. Once acknowledgment is made, the host may then signal on the host to device line using a protocol such as SPI.
