Abstract:
Aspects are described for synchronizing a user equipment (UE) and at least one network entity at, for example, a Radio Link Control (RLC) layer entity. The aspects may include receiving a first status packet data unit (PDU). In some aspects, the first status PDU may be a most recent non-erroneous status PDU. Further, the aspects may include receiving a second status PDU. In some aspects, the second status PDU may be received subsequent to receiving the first status PDU. Moreover, the aspects may include determining whether the first status PDU and the second status PDU are transmitted from a same network entity. Additionally, the aspects may include performing a RLC reset based at least in part on a determination being made that the first status PDU and the second status PDU are transmitted from the same network entity.
Abstract:
A method for authenticating a circuit switched (CS) call on a virtual subscriber identity module (VSIM) includes: authenticating the VSIM for a packet switched (PS) call connection using authentication information obtained from a remote server through a software subscriber identity module (soft-SIM) connection to the remote server; initiating a call connection on a CS radio access technology (RAT) between the VSIM and a first communication network; and authenticating the VSIM CS call connection to the first communication network through the VSIM PS connection in response to an authentication request for the call connection on the CS RAT.
Abstract:
Aspects of resolving conflicting configuration parameters during wireless communication include triggering reselection to a new cell from a current cell and determining that a user equipment (UE) is configured in a forward access channel (FACH) state and is waiting for a Layer 2 Acknowledgement (L2 ACK) message from a network entity when reselection to the new cell is triggered. Further, the aspects include performing a collision resolution procedure in response to the determination that the UE is configured in the FACH state and is waiting for the L2 ACK message. In some aspects, the collision resolution procedure establishes which one of a plurality of information elements (IEs) to choose for a reconfiguration procedure.
Abstract:
The present disclosure describes a method and an apparatus for managing security mode command (SMC) integrity failures at a user equipment (UE). For example, a method is provided for managing SMC integrity failures which receives a SMC message at the UE from a network entity. A message authentication code for data integrity (MAC-I) failure based at least on a mismatch of a security parameter at the UE may be detected at the UE. Moreover, a corrective action may be performed at the UE in response to the detection of the MAC-I failure at the UE.
Abstract:
The disclosure provides for a UE handling messages in wireless communication. The disclosure provides for a UE partially exchanging a first signaling-related message associated with a first UE configuration with a network entity and triggering a state transition message that initiates a change to a second UE configuration different from the first UE configuration. In an aspect, the UE determines that the first message has not been successfully received or successfully transmitted. In an aspect, the UE sends an indication message to coordinate discarding of the first message with the network entity and receives, after sending the indication message, a second signaling-related message associated with the second UE configuration. In another aspect, the UE, after partially sending a signaling-related message, receives a reconfiguration request associated with a second UE configuration. In an aspect, the UE determines that the message has not been successfully transmitted and causes a reconfiguration failure.
Abstract:
Wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) is described. In some cases, a UE may determine that a voice call is about to be setup or in the process of being setup with a cell that supports voice calls. While the voice call is pending, the UE may be motivated to connect to a cell that does not support voice calls. The UE may recognize that the cell does not support voice calls and refrain from connecting to the cell until after the voice call setup, and/or the voice call itself, has completed.
