摘要: In a wireless communication system, user equipment (UE) has autonomy provided by one or more set of rules to handle processing during a measurement gap. UE can ignore or use only a portion of the whole measurement gap if not needed. Thereby, an urgent need for remaining tuned to source carrier frequency can be supported, such as utilizing Random Access Channel (RACH) procedure. UE can also choose to tune to a target carrier frequency supporting timely handovers. Depending on the type of processing required (download shared channel (DL-SCH, UL-SCH, TTI bundling, RACH or SR), the UE may store requests and process the measurements during the gap or ignore the gap measurement as if there were no gaps.

摘要: Techniques for supporting broadcast, multicast, and unicast services in a cellular system are described. A Node B may multiplex data for broadcast and multicast services and data for unicast services on radio resources available for transmission. The Node B may periodically send scheduling information used to determine the radio resources carrying the broadcast and multicast services. In one design, the Node B may time division multiplex the data for the broadcast and multicast services and the data for the unicast services. The scheduling information may convey time unit(s) used for each broadcast or multicast service. In another design, the Node B may map the data for the broadcast and multicast services to time frequency blocks. The scheduling information may (i) convey the time frequency block(s) used for each broadcast or multicast service or (ii) point to control information conveying the time frequency block(s) used for each service.

摘要: Facilitating user terminal (UT) access to wireless networks having base stations (BSs) of disparate access types is described herein. In some aspects, BS parameterization is provided to facilitate search and/or access to distinct types of network BSs. For instance, parameters can modify a likelihood of identifying or remaining coupled to restricted access (RA) BSs in a home Node B (HNB) deployment. In other aspects of the subject disclosure, a PLMN ID reserved for HNBs is provided comprising multiple region IDs. Where a UT identifies a home region, HNBs can be given preference over macro BSs. Additionally, the UT can keep track of HNBs and HNB regions that reject access to the UT, and implement a delay time to mitigate rapid signaling to foreign HNBs in a dense HNB deployment. Accordingly, the subject disclosure provides for more efficient UT access in heterogeneous access type networks.

摘要: Systems and methodologies are described herein that facilitate cell barring based on erroneous messages received within a wireless communication system. As described herein, in the event that a device fails to receive and/or decode respective messages transmitted from a network cell over a common communication channel, the device can implement one or more error handling procedures as described herein to reselect away from the network cell and/or a frequency associated with the network cell (e.g., as if the network cell was explicitly barred). Cell barring can be triggered as described herein based on a count of erroneous messages (e.g., consecutive messages, messages received within a predetermined time window, etc.), elapsed time between erroneous messages, or the like. Further, cell barring can be performed as described herein based on failure to acquire pre-scheduled system information, common system information determined to have invalid abstract syntax, or the like.

摘要: Techniques for supporting positioning for terminals in a wireless network are described. In an aspect, a message is prepared and transmitted with a message segment including a version of a protocol used to encode the message and a compatibility level associated with inter-operable protocol versions, wherein different compatibility levels indicate non-compatibility between protocol versions. In another aspect, a message is received with a message segment including a version of a protocol used to encode the message and a compatibility level associated with inter-operable protocol versions, wherein different compatibility levels indicate non-compatibility between protocol versions. The compatibility level included in the received message is compared to an internal compatibility level and a response message is prepared and transmitted with a message segment including the internal compatibility level.

摘要: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for multicasting traffic using multi-connectivity. A wireless network can send a downlink (DL) packet, which follows one path from a core network entity to a user equipment (UE) under current standards, to multiple base stations (BSs) and from each of the base stations to a UE. The UE receives the DL packet from whichever BS first delivers the DL packet, and then the UE sends a report reporting receipt of the DL packet back to all of the BSs. BSs that receive a report indicating the UE received the packet can drop the packet, even if they have not yet successfully delivered the packet. The same procedure can be used for an UL packet, which can be sent from a UE to multiple BSs, and from the BSs to a core network entity.

摘要: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate notifying and detecting modification of system information in a wireless communication system. A mobile device may detect an inability to receive a paging message transmitted by a base station during a first time period, receive at least one system information block (SIB) transmitted by the base station during a second time period, and determine whether to receive one or more additional SIBs transmitted by the base station in the second time period based on information obtained from the at least one SIB received. The mobile device may detect an inability to receive a paging message upon entering a cell from being out of service or upon initial device starting up. The mobile device may determine whether to receive one or more additional SIBs by comparing a value tag of the at least one SIB received to a previously stored value tag.

摘要: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for wireless communication, and more particularly, to methods and apparatus to enable a node to be aware of active services and context for a mobile device in order to determine the load balancing and admission control for the services. For example, in certain aspects, a mobile device for managing at least one data flow between a core network and the mobile device may determine whether at least one of the data flow or a service related to the data flow should be reported and send a report to a first node based on the determination. The report may identify at least one of the data flow or service and indicates a packet data network (PDN) connection or bearer associated with the service or data flow.

摘要: Methods and apparatuses are provided that facilitate allowing position determination of devices in wireless networks with home evolved Node Bs (HeNB). An HeNB can determine its location based at least in part on positioning measurements from one or more devices. The HeNB can additionally or alternatively register its location or other location parameters with a positioning server for subsequent provisioning as assistance information for determining a device position. Moreover, a device can request assistance information related to a different base station where the HeNB is not registered with the positioning server.
