摘要:
The adhesive system of the present invention is suitable for use in adhering an incompatible ink system to a polymeric film; particularly, adhering a lithographic ink or electrographic toner bonded to a floor covering. The polymeric sheet and incompatible ink have a primer layer interposed between them or the ink layer is encapsulated between the two primer layers. The primer may be solvent based or aqueous based and preferably includes a benzene derivative, ketone, acetate or nitroparaffin solvent or film former. The primer is compatible with the polymeric sheet and diffuses into the ink layer. The preferred solvent or film former includes methyl isobutyl ketone, methyl ethyl ketone, n-propyl acetate, isopropyl acetate, or N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone. The primer also includes a polyvinyl resin, acrylic resin, polyurethane resin or polyester resin, and optionally a pigment. To deter dot distortion of the ink, the primer should have a glass transition temperature (T.sub.g) of at least about 60.degree. C., and preferably at least about 100.degree. C.

The present invention provides for an acoustically absorbent porous panel that is both rigid and resistant to sagging caused by moisture. The acoustically absorbent porous panel is comprised of at least two layers. The first layer is a facing layer formed from a cured aqueous foamed cementitious material. The foamed cementitious material comprises on a wet basis about 53% to about 68% by weight cement, about 17% to about 48% by weight water, about 0.05% to about 5% by weight fiber, and about 0.01% to about 10% by weight surfactant. Additionally, pores distributed within the cured material comprising about 75% to about 95% by volume of the material. The second layer is a backing layer that is affixed to the facing layer.

Phenolic foam which can be used as insulation is a foamed phenol-formaldehyde resole resin which contains a peptide, a proteinaceous material, cysteine, glutamic acid, glycine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, phenylalanine, serine, tryptophan, or mixtures thereof at an amount effective to reduce emission of free formaldehyde from the foamed resin.

An acoustically absorbent porous panel with a layer constructed from a substantially continuous open-celled porous material comprising a cured foamed cementitious material including a first face and a second face. The first face has a surface with a substantially planar profile and the second face has a substantially geometric pattern of depressions formed therein comprising approximately 50% to approximately 90% of the layer by volume.

A process and apparatus for creating an acoustically absorbent porous panel comprises the steps of dispensing cement and fibers with a dry mixer to create a dry mix and aqueous mixing water, surfactant and air with an aqueous mixer to create a foam. The process and apparatus provides for combining and mixing the foam and dry mix in a combining mixer to form a foamed cementitious material comprising on a wet basis about 53% to about 68% by weight cement, about 17% to about 48% by weight water, about 0.05% to about 5% by weight fibers, and about 0.01% to about 10% by weight surfactant. The foamed cementitious material is then dried or cured in a drying chamber. The dried foamed cementitious material may then textured with an embossing roller. The cementitious material provides good acoustical performance with enhanced durability and moisture resistance.

Thermal insulation is prepared using gelatin foam. Embodiments of gelatin foam insulation which are described include gelatin foam having an anti-wicking agent which is an aromatic compound having as ring substituents: an --NH.sub.2 moiety and/or a hydroxyl moiety and also at least two sulfonate moieties. In another embodiment, the gelatin foam is combined with phyllosilicate mineral lamellae for void control and as a shrinkage deterrent. In yet another embodiment, crosslinked gelatin foam is described which has been crosslinked with a melamine/formaldehyde condensation product, a polyfunctional aziridine and/or an epichlorohydrin/polyamide condensation product.
