    Abstract: An electrically conductive holder is provided that is suitable for receiving a tablet electrode of a button battery. The holder includes a bottom portion to be fitted coaxially within terminal of a button battery. The holder further includes an upstanding wall portion. The bottom portion is flat and provided with a plurality of apertures through the complete thickness of the bottom portion. At least one group of apertures is distributed at regular angular intervals around the center of the bottom portion, spanning 360°. The strips of solid material of the bottom portion between two adjacent apertures are preferable narrow compared to the dimensions of the adjacent apertures so as to provide a mechanical support for the tablet electrode while also being able to deform under the influence of a volumetric expansion of the electrode.

    Abstract: A button battery (1′,1″) that includes a sealing assembly, having one of the terminals (9) of the battery, an electrically insulating portion (17) and a circumferential wall portion (15). The insulating portion (17) forms a hermetic bond with the terminal (9) and with the wall portion (15). The sealing assembly is receptacle-shaped and one or more components of the battery such as the anode (8), the separator sheet (7) and the cathode (3) may be inserted in the receptacle shape prior to assembling the battery. The wall portion (15) forms a part of the second terminal and is attached to the remainder of the second terminal by a circumferential weld seam (16). The battery may be produced by inserting one or more components of the battery into the sealing assembly and attaching the wall portion (15) of the sealing assembly to the remainder (2,2′) of the second terminal.

    Abstract: The present invention concerns a flat battery comprising a package formed by a cathode, an anode, and a separator layer sandwiched between the cathode and the anode, a sealing frame extending circumferentially around said package, a first current collector contacting the anode, and a second current collector contacting the cathode. The first and second current collectors each partly cover the sealing frame in a zone being adjacent to the package. According to the invention, the battery further comprises a first polymeric jacket layer being arranged on the first current collector and a second polymeric jacket layer being arranged on the second current collector, said first and second polymeric jacket layers extending circumferentially beyond the current collectors and beyond the sealing frame and being sealed together to form an outer jacket for the battery. Furthermore, the present invention also concerns a method to produce such a battery.
