The VDMS device may include a motion sensor to detect and measure movement of the VDMS device, and synchronization circuitry configured to synchronize the light emission of the individual light sources in the arrays with the movement of the VDMS device. The VDMS device may also include a self-contained power source and a control unit and interface that allow the user to program the messages that are displayed by the VDMS device, as well as memory that stores user messages.

    摘要: An article and a method for testing the assembly of that article are disclosed. The article includes a plurality of modules, at least two of the modules are capable of being placed in two different positions in the article, each module having a correct position in the article. Each module includes an aperture at a location determined by the desired position for that module in the article. The apertures are placed such that the apertures will be aligned to form a transparent channel when the modules are arranged in a predetermined pattern with respect to one another, but not when arranged in any of the possible incorrect orders. The article can be tested for assembly errors by transmitting a test light signal into the first end and testing for light that traversed all of said first transparent channel.

    摘要: A touch indication device comprises a light guide structure for passing light of a light source via total internal reflection. A touch surface disturbs the total internal reflection when touched, causing light to leave the light guide structure. A light enhancement layer converts the light leaving the light guide and sends the converted light to a light detector. The light enhancement layer amplifies the intensity and/or changes the color of the light leaving the light guide. The detector determines the position of the touch on the touch surface based on the light from the light enhancement layer.
