    摘要: The present invention provides a composite coating and a method of preparing a composite coating resistant to galling and fretting. The coating is applied to a substrate and includes a mixture of hard carbide particles in an alloy matrix or oxides and solid lubricant particles captured in a binder. The coating is produced by using a thermal spray process to apply a powder containing both the hard face or oxide phases as well as the self lubricating phases. Thus, the applied coating of the present invention combines the benefits achieved with previous thermal spray coatings in terms of wear, abrasion, heat and corrosion with those afforded by solid lubricants. In addition, the coating of the present invention provides consistently distributed surface porosity to retain liquid lubricant on the coating surface.

Embodiments of the invention include using a reusable substrate, a reusable substrate with layered probe elements and a reusable substrate with a passive layer made of a material that does not adhere well to probe elements formed thereon.     摘要: The present invention relates to polythiophenes, particularly regioregular head-to-tail poly(3-alkylthiophenes) (HT-PATs), block copolymers made therefrom, and their methods of formation. The present invention provides HT-PATs with well-defined, specific end-groups, functionalization of the defined HT-PATs, and incorporation of end group functionalized HT-PATs into block copolymers with structural polymers. The intrinsically conductive diblock and triblock copolymers, formed from the HT-PATs, have excellent conductivity and low polydispersities that are useful in a number of applications. The block copolymers of the present invention have been found to exhibit conductivities that range from a low of 10−8 S/cm for certain applications to as high as several hundred S/cm or more.
