A developer may be produced including the toner and optionally a carrier. If a carrier is included, the carrier preferably exhibits a resistivity of greater than 1×107 ohm-cm. An electrophotographic machine includes the toner exhibiting high resistivity.

The crosslinked styrene containing polymer particles preferably have an average particle size of from about 30 nm to about 300 nm, and may comprise styrene homopolymer particles, styrene copolymer particles or mixtures thereof. A process of reducing the relative humidity sensitivity of toner using such external surface additive is also described.

The toner preferably is comprised of styrene-butyl acrylate binder and gel. The toner preferably exhibits a transfer efficiency of about 0.8-1.0, a developability of about 0.3 to about 1.5 mg/cm2, and a charge to diameter ratio (q/d) of about −0.7 to about −0.1 fC/micron. A developer containing the toner and a method of forming an image using the toner are also described.

摘要： A developer includes black toner particles and carrier particles, the black toner particles including at least one binder, at least one black colorant and one or more external additives, wherein the toner particles comprise from about 7 to about 15 pph of the developer, and wherein the toner particles exhibit a triboelectric charge of from about −25 to about −50 μC/g at toner particle concentrations of about 7 to about 15 pph of the developer. The developer is ideally suited for use in a high speed (greater than 100 prints per minute) semiconductive magnetic brush development apparatus. Preferably, the black toner particles include a styrene acrylate binder, and the external additives include from about 1.3 to about 2.1% by weight of the toner particles of a first silica having an average particle size of from about 35 to about 45 nm, from about 0.5 to about 1.0% by weight of the toner particles of a second silica having an average particle size of from about 135 to about 160 nm, and from about 0.2 to about 0.5% by weight of the toner particles of a titania having an average particle size of from about 35 to about 45 nm, with an external additive toner surface area coverage of from about 25 to about 45%.

摘要： Toner particles comprise resin, wax and optionally colorants, and the wax is substantially excluded from the interior core of the toner particles. Processes for preparing such toner particles comprise providing an aqueous dispersion of resin particles and optionally colorants, mixing the aqueous dispersion in presence of a coagulant, aggregating to form particles, coalescing to form fused particles, and removing the fused particles from the aqueous dispersion. Wax dispersions can be added either after mixing or during aggregation, so that wax is excluded from the core of the toner particles.

摘要： The present disclosure provides processes for producing images of excellent color fidelity when incorporating a magenta toner with a lower colorant loading in addition to a first magenta toner. In embodiments, the magenta pigmented particles may be magenta emulsion aggregation toners. In accordance with the present disclosure, a pair of magenta toners are matched in color, wherein the color of a first magenta toner printed at a predetermined halftone area coverage on a substrate substantially matches the color of the solid (100%) printed patch of the second magenta toner, which is lighter than the first magenta toner, thus avoiding a visible hue shift on the print that would otherwise be objectionable. In embodiments, the light magenta toner is color matched by adding a hue-adjusting colorant or combination of colorants which absorb wavelengths of light between 400 and 500 nanometers, and optionally adding a shade-adjusting colorant or combination of colorants which absorb wavelengths of light between 600 and 700 nanometers.
