    摘要: Photothermographic materials are coated with imaging layers and an antihalation layer between the support and thermally developable imaging layers on one or both sides of the support. Such materials can be arranged in association with one or more phosphor intensifying screens capable of providing emission at a predetermined wavelength in imaging assemblies. These imaging assemblies can be exposed to X-radiation and thereby excited to form a latent image in the photothermographic material that can eventually be used for medical diagnosis. The antihalation layers contain radiation absorbing compounds (such as a UV-radiation absorbing compounds) that absorb radiation at the predetermined wavelength (for example at 300 to 450 nm) and have limited absorption at higher wavelengths.

    摘要: A photographic element is disclosed comprising a silver halide emulsion layer having associated therewith an acetanilide based yellow dye forming coupler and a compound of the following Formula I: wherein R1, R2 and R3 are each independently aromatic, cyclic, linear, or branched chained hydrocarbon groups. The invention provides photographic elements which exhibit exceptional yellow dye light stability, and which retain desirable properties derived from the use of acetanilide based yellow dye-forming couplers, particularly when used in combination with substituted phenolic and/or thiomorpholine dioxide stabilizers. In addition to stabilizing properties, compounds of Formula I have organic solvent properties, and accordingly may be advantageously used partly or totally in place of conventional high boiling permanent and/or auxiliary organic coupler solvents to disperse the acetanilide-based couplers.

    摘要: Polymer film, coating, and molded article elements for use in a display device are described which comprise a polymer phase having molecularly dispersed therein an acid scavenger compound, a hindered amine light stabilizer compound and a hindered phenol antioxidant compound, wherein the hindered amine light stabilizer compound and the hindered phenol antioxidant compound are present at a weight ratio of from 20:1 to 1:20, and the weight ratio of the acid scavenger compound to the total concentration of hindered amine light stabilizer compound and hindered phenol antioxidant compound is from 10:1 to 1:10. Use of a combination of an acid scavenger and a combination of two radical scavenger antioxidants dispersed in a polymer phase in accordance with the invention enables enhanced stabilization of the polymer when exposed to high heat and/or humidity condition, which has been found to be especially desirable when applied to polymer layers laminated into displays (e.g., polarizers in liquid crystal displays).

    摘要: The present invention is a method for stabilizing a photographic coating melt. The photographic melt includes an aqueous medium and a dispersed liquid organic phase containing an ultraviolet ray absorbing compound, and an emulsion containing silver halide particles having an average equivalent circular diameter of from 0.03 to 0.10 microns. The photographically useful ultraviolet ray absorber compound is soluble in a liquid organic phase and substantially insoluble in water. The method includes the step of adding to the emulsion containing silver halide particles a sufficient amount of surfactant to passify surfaces of the silver halide particles. The present invention is also a method of preparing a photographic coating melt. A dispersion is prepared which includes an aqueous medium, a dispersed liquid organic phase and an ultraviolet ray absorber compound wherein the ultraviolet ray absorber compound is soluble in the dispersed liquid organic phase and substantially insoluble in water. An emulsion is prepared containing silver halide particles having an average equivalent circular diameter of from 0.03 to 0.10 microns. A sufficient amount of surfactant to passify surfaces of the silver halide particles is added to the emulsion. The dispersion and emulsion are combined to form the photographic coating melt.
