摘要: The present invention concerns a reactive carrier that forms no by-products during melt injection of polymer into articles such as sheets, films, fibers and containers. The reactive carrier is used to mix additives into the polymer resin. More particularly, the invention relates to the use of one or more cyclic anhydrides or substituted cyclic anhydrides as the reactive carrier. The polymer can be polyester or polyamide. Suitable cyclic anhydrides are those with a melt point of less than the polyester or polyamide, preferably less than about 160° C., and more preferably less than about 125° C. Most preferable are cyclic anhydrides with a melt point less than about 100° C. and especially suitable are those that are liquid at room temperature (25° C.). The cyclic anhydride may be selected from the group of succinic anhydride, substituted succinic anhydride, glutaric anhydride, substituted glutaric anhydride, phthalic anhydride, substituted phthalic anhydride, maleic anhydride, substituted maleic anhydride, or mixtures of two or more of these.

摘要: The object of the present invention is to overcome conventional demerits of pullulan powders prepared by conventional techniques, i.e., they could not be homogeneously mixed with non-reducing saccharides composed of glucose units when mixed together, and the resulting mixtures do not easily dissolve in water; and to provide a pullulan-containing powder with an improved rate of water dissolution, as well as to provide preparations and uses thereof. The present invention solves the above object by providing a pullulan-containing powder which uniformly comprises pullulan as a main ingredient and a non-reducing saccharide, and their process and uses; wherein the pullulan-containing powder is prepared by the steps of preparing a solution dissolving pullulan and a non-reducing saccharide homogeneously, pulverizing the solution, and collecting the resulting pullulan-containing powder. The powder has an improved rate of water dissolution, while retaining satisfactory resistance to humidity without fear of causing separation between the pullulan and the non-reducing sccharide.

摘要: Polymer film, coating, and molded article elements for use in a display device are described which comprise a polymer phase having molecularly dispersed therein an acid scavenger compound, a hindered amine light stabilizer compound and a hindered phenol antioxidant compound, wherein the hindered amine light stabilizer compound and the hindered phenol antioxidant compound are present at a weight ratio of from 20:1 to 1:20, and the weight ratio of the acid scavenger compound to the total concentration of hindered amine light stabilizer compound and hindered phenol antioxidant compound is from 10:1 to 1:10. Use of a combination of an acid scavenger and a combination of two radical scavenger antioxidants dispersed in a polymer phase in accordance with the invention enables enhanced stabilization of the polymer when exposed to high heat and/or humidity condition, which has been found to be especially desirable when applied to polymer layers laminated into displays (e.g., polarizers in liquid crystal displays).
