    摘要: Blends of siloxane copolymers, notably siloxane polyimides, with polyaryl esters or polyaryl ester carbonates containing linkages derived from resorcinol, show improved flame resistance, as measured by two minute and peak heat release, compared to conventional polycarbonates. In some instances transparent flame retardant blends can also be prepared. The compositions show good melt processability, high impact strength and high elongation, and can be used to make various flame retardant articles including sheets and films.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a tubular article of manufacture in an annular or tubular shape having an outer diameter, an inner diameter and a length comprising one or more materials selected from the group consisting of: a) an immiscible blend of polymers comprising one or more polyetherimides, having more than one glass transition temperature wherein the polyetherimide has a glass transition temperature greater than 217° Celsius; b) a miscible blend of polymers, comprising one or more polyetherimides, having a single glass transition temperature greater than 180° Celsius; or, c) a single polyetherimide having a glass transition temperature of greater than 247° Celsius.

    摘要: The present invention relates generally to the field of articles of manufacture in the form of a shaped article comprising a blend of polymers wherein all, or some of, one or more surfaces of the shaped article is coated with a covering material, wherein the covering material has a different composition than the shaped article, and, wherein the shaped article comprises either: a) an immiscible blend of polymers having more than one glass transition temperature and one of the polymers has a glass transition temperature greater than 180° Celsius; b) a miscible blend of polymers having a single glass transition temperature greater than 217° Celsius; or, c) a single virgin polymer having a glass transition temperature of greater than 247° Celsius. The present invention is also directed to light source reflectors comprising a polymer according to a), b) or c) above.
