A connector axial compression tool having a lever end and a cable end, with a body slidably supporting a cradle in a cavity formed in the body. The cradle is slidable via a handle which pivots about the body, linked to the cradle by a lever mechanism. The cradle has a shoulder clamp adapted to mate with a connector body. Operation of the handle moves the cradle towards and away from a cable end of the cavity, against a cable clamp through which the cable may pass but against which a cable clamp sleeve of the connector abuts, axially compressing the connector to couple it to the cable. Because the shoulder clamp holds the connector body rather than pressing against the connector interface, a wide range of different connectors may be used with the same tool, without causing damage to the connector interface of the various connectors.

A thin film transistor is provided that includes a gate electrode protruding from the gate line, a source electrode protruding from the data line and a drain electrode spaced from the source electrode at a predetermined interval. A metal pattern is disposed over a predetermined portion of the gate line. A passivation layer is disposed over the data line and the metal pattern, the passivation layer having a contact hole exposing the drain electrode and a storage hole exposing the metal pattern. A pixel electrode is disposed on the pixel region over the contact hole and the storage hole, and a column spacer is configured to contact the pixel electrode through the storage hole. A liquid crystal layer is interposed between the first and second substrates. The LCD device may further include a color filter layer and black matrix layers formed on the first or second substrate. The present invention further includes methods for making the above-described LCD device.

Disclosed herein is an apparatus for controlling a decision threshold voltage to an optical receiver, which is capable of automatically controlling the decision threshold voltage to the optical receiver appropriately to signal level decision on the basis of a low-frequency band signal component of an output signal from the optical receiver. The apparatus is adapted to control the level of the decision threshold voltage to the optical receiver, which converts an input optical signal into an electrical signal. To this end, the apparatus comprises a voltage detector for branching off part of the output signal from the optical receiver and detecting a corresponding voltage, a differential comparator for comparing the voltage detected by the voltage detector with a reference voltage inputted thereto and outputting the resulting differential voltage, a low pass filter for filtering the differential voltage from the differential comparator at a predetermined low frequency band and supplying the resulting voltage as the threshold voltage to the optical receiver, and a voltage controller for controlling the reference voltage to the differential comparator on the basis of a differential voltage between the threshold voltage from the low pass filter and a predetermined voltage corresponding to a predetermined minimum bit error rate.
