摘要： A method, system and program product for enabling migration of Virtual Machines with concurrent access to data across two geographically disperse sites to enable load balancing across the two geographically disperse sites, by presenting over a network a read writable logical volume at a first site, presenting over a network a read writable logical volume at a second geographically disparate site; wherein the first volume and the second volume are configured to contain the same information, and enabling read write access to the volume at the first site or the volume at the second site for a first virtual machine while keeping the data consistent between the two sites to enable transparent migration of the virtual machine to load balancing across the two sites according to at least one load balancing metric.

摘要： A system and method for safe and effective backup and restore of parallel server databases stored in data storage systems. Parallel server databases allow multiple nodes in MPP (Massively Parallel Processor) or SMP (Symmetric Multi-Processor) systems to simultaneously access a database. Each node is running an instance (thread) which provides access to the database. The present invention allows for online or offline backup to be performed from any node in the system, with proper access to all control files and logs, both archived and online, whether the files are stored in raw partitions in the data storage system, or local on certain nodes. Two different types of external restore supported: complete external restore and partial external restore. In a complete external restore, all spaces will be restored to the most recent checkpoint that was generated while creating an external backup. If users lose only a portion of the data (which is more typically the case), a partial external restore may be performed.

摘要： A long alumina ceramic tube having good linearity is made by longitudinally joining shorter sintered alumina tubes at the ends thereof. The end of one shorter tube is ground and externally threaded. The end of another shorter sintered alumina tube is ground and internally threaded. The externally threaded end is then securely threaded into the internally threaded end. Additional tubes are similarly ground and threaded to attain the length of the long alumina ceramic tube.

摘要： A fish lure providing changeable effects of coloration even during use, by an extendible sock-like colored body interiorly of the lure which gives a variation in the lure's coloration-effect depending on its condition as relatively collapsed or relatively extended condition. An actuator or other devices, automatic upon pulling the line through the water, cause the change from collapsed to extended position, against the bias of other structure opposing the extension, thus giving a variation in the nature of color-change dependent upon how the user pulls the lure through the water. A piston associated with the colored body moves in correspondency to it, forcing water outwardly of the lure, giving further water-disturbing and lure-jiggling effects; and other embodiments provide color-change by fluid in the lure having a color-change responsiveness to changes in temperature and/or pressure. In another embodiment, a rotational propeller device inside the lure provides further fish-attracting motion and coloration-change as the lure is pulled through the water.

摘要： A method and apparatus for directly connecting very large data streams from an archive command into a backup data system using an “intelligent process.” An output stream is piped into an intelligent pipe-reading process and distributed over a set of temporary data stores built from raw storage resources. A pipe interface process supervises backup of each filled data store, while the remaining output stream continues to be piped into another available data store. The backup system completes archiving of the datastream, keeping a catalog of the datastream storage locations. To retrieve the data, the intelligent process is run in reverse as a pipe-writing process, requesting data from the backup system. Retrieved data traverses the data stores from the backup system and are pumped into the pipe-writing process for delivery to the pipe output file identified by the retrieve or import command.
