Abstract: An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a printed circuit board, a light emitting unit and a light receiving unit which are disposed on the printed circuit board, a cover member which has at least a partial region configured by a material having high optical transmittance, is disposed to face the printed circuit board, and includes a first region substantially facing the light emitting unit, and a second region substantially facing the light receiving unit, and a pattern disposed in at least one of the first region and the second region of the cover member. The pattern may be disposed by repeatedly arranging blocking units having low transmittance at a predetermined interval. In addition, various embodiments may be possible.

Abstract: An electronic device that can be worn on a user's body and an operating method thereof. An electrode for charging and measuring is included in a front side of the electronic device. The electronic device includes a battery, a charging circuit for charging the battery, a bio-sensor, and a processor. The processor is configured to determine whether the battery is being charged through the charging circuit. If the battery is not being charged, the processor is configured to acquire biometric information by using a first method through the bio-sensor, and if the battery is being charged, the processor is configured to acquire the biometric information by using a second method through the bio-sensor.

Abstract: According to certain embodiments, an electronic device comprises: a housing; an optical sensor module disposed in the housing and including one or more light-emitting elements, and one or more light-receiving elements; a light source driver disposed in the housing and configured to control power supply of the one or more light-emitting elements; and at least one processor disposed in the housing and operatively connected to the optical sensor module and the light source driver, wherein the at least one processor is configured to identify a light source of the one or more light-emitting elements and turn-on/off timings of the one or more light-emitting elements according to a sensor measurement mode or a measurement function when the optical sensor module is driven, configure a control signal of the light source driver in response to the identified turn-on/off timings of the one or more light-emitting elements, based on the control signal, apply an output voltage of the light source driver as power of the one or more light-emitting elements in a turn-on period of the one or more light-emitting elements, and block the power of the one or more light-emitting elements by limiting output of the light source driver in a turn-off period of the one or more light-emitting elements.

Abstract: An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a housing that includes a sensing surface, a light emitting unit that outputs a light through the sensing surface, a light receiving unit that collects a reflection light reflected from an external object in contact with the sensing surface, after the light is output from the light emitting unit, and a first Fresnel lens that is disposed between the light receiving unit and the sensing surface. A first surface of the first Fresnel lens total reflects the reflection light introduced in a direction perpendicular to the sensing surface, and a second surface of the first Fresnel lens refracts the total reflected light so as to be introduced to the light receiving unit.

Abstract: An electronic device may determine whether a user wears the electronic device by means of at least one sensor; measure a first bio-signal of the user by means of the at least one sensor while the user wears the electronic device; drive an RF sensor included in a charging device while the electronic device is connected to the charging device including the RF sensor through an interface, thereby measuring a second bio-signal of the user that is generated by the RF signal oscillated from the RF sensor; receive at least one of electric power for charging the battery from the charging device and the second bio-signal through the interface; generate health information of the user on the basis of at least the first bio-signal and the second bio-signal; and display the generated health information on a display.

Other embodiments are possible.

Abstract: An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a housing, a touch screen display to be exposed through a first portion of the housing, a motion sensor disposed inside the housing, a photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor disposed in a second portion of the housing, a processor operatively coupled to the display, the motion sensor, and the PPG sensor, and a memory operably coupled to the processor. The memory stores instructions that allow, when executed, the processor to receive first data from the motion sensor, identify whether a user has started exercise based on at least a portion of the first data, receive second data from the PPG sensor after identifying whether or not the user has started exercise, and determine the type of exercise of the user based on at least a portion of the first data and the second data.
