摘要: A tile-based rendering method includes performing binning of a current frame; generating an identification code of binning information or property information of a tile to be rendered in the current frame; comparing the identification code of the tile to be rendered to an identification code of a previous tile, wherein a location of the previous tile in a previous frame is the same as a location of the tile to be rendered in the current frame; and rendering the current frame by either re-using an image stored in a frame buffer or performing pixel processing of the tile to be rendered depending on a result of the comparing.

摘要: A tile-based rendering method and a tile-based rendering apparatus are provided. The tile-based rendering method involves performing tile binning on a first image and a second image having binocular disparity using a plurality of graphic processors based on a draw command, determining a tile of the second image having a highest similarity to a tile of the first image based on a result of the tile binning, determining a tile rendering order for each tile of the first image and the second image, based on a result of the determining of the tile of the second image having a highest similarity to the tile of the first image, and performing tile rendering, according to the determined tile rendering order.

摘要: The graphics processing unit (GPU) of a processing system transitions to a low-power state between frame rendering operations according to an inter-frame power off process, where GPU state information is stored on retention hardware. The retention hardware can include retention random access memory (RAM) or retention flip-flops. The retention hardware is operable in an active mode and a retention mode, where read/write operations are enabled at the retention hardware in the active mode and disabled in the retention mode, but data stored on the retention hardware is still retained in the retention mode. The retention hardware is placed in the retention state between frame rendering operations. The GPU transitions from its low-power state to its active state upon receiving an indication that a new frame is ready to be rendered and is restored using the GPU state information stored at the retention hardware.

The GPU may determine a priority of a plurality of instances of state version data based on frequencies of use associated with the plurality of instances of state version data, maintain first state version data having a determined highest priority from among the plurality of instances of state version data, and control second state version data having a determined lower priority than the first state version data to be updated based on a graphics pipeline being performed. The state version data may include code associated with performing the graphics pipeline in each of a plurality of states of the plurality of components.
