Abstract:
An apparatus and a method of recognizing an external device in a portable terminal are provided. The apparatus includes a connector connected to the external device, and a controller configured to transmit a connection message, if the portable terminal is connected to the external device through the connector, the connection message asking whether the external device supports a second connection scheme to the external device by using a first connection scheme, configured to receive a connection response message as a response to the connection message from the external device, configured to determine based on the connection response message whether the external device supports the second connection scheme, and configured to recognize at least one device supporting the second connection scheme in the external device by activating the second connection scheme, if the external device supports the second connection scheme.
Abstract:
An electronic device according to various embodiments includes a housing; a user interface; a wireless communication circuit disposed in the housing; a wired communication interface exposed through the housing; a processor disposed in the housing and electrically connected to the user interface, the wireless communication circuit, and the wired communication interface; and a memory disposed in the housing and electrically connected to the processor, wherein the memory stores instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the electronic device to establish a first communication channel with an external electronic device including a storage using the wireless communication circuit and/or the wired communication interface so that the electronic device operates as a device and the external electronic device operates as a host, to exchange information with the external electronic device through the first communication channel, and to establish a second communication channel with the external electronic device using the wireless communication circuit so that the electronic device operates as a host and the external electronic device operates as a device.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method are provided. The apparatus includes a connecter to connect with an electronic device external to the apparatus, and a processor configured to identify a connection with the electronic device via the connector, receive, using a first communication scheme, a message from the electronic device based at least in part on the identifying, determine, based at least in part on the message, whether the electronic device supports a second communication scheme, and establish a communication link corresponding to the second communication scheme with the electronic device based at least in part on a determination that the electronic device supports the second communication scheme.
Abstract:
A method for initializing a memory that is part of an electronic device, comprising: receiving a sequence for initializing the memory from an external booting device; and causing the memory to perform initialization by using a first command that is generated based on the sequence.
Abstract:
Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for reducing a ghost touch in an electronic device. According to various embodiments, the electronic device includes a touch screen, and at least one processor implementing the method, which includes detecting touches to the touch screen, and detecting a ghost touch based on at least two of: a time interval between the touches detected through the touch screen, a distance between the touches, and a touch area of the touches.
Abstract:
A screen sharing method for an electronic device is provided. A first device communicates with a second device and shares a first screen. At the first device, a specific image is displayed superposed with the first screen, where the specific image is excluded from the first screen shared with the second electronic device. The second screen is thereafter shared with the second device. An intuitive user interface for editing a shared screen and thereafter sharing the edited screen is thus provided.
Abstract:
A system, an apparatus, and a method of performing a charging operation in a host mode, which can perform a charging operation in a host mode of a terminal includes a terminal for simultaneously receiving a function of performing communication with a peripheral device and a charging function from an external accessory connected in the host mode. The external accessory simultaneously provides the charging function while performing the communication with the peripheral device to the terminal in a client mode.
