摘要: An organic EL panel 10 is a bendable display panel including a plurality of pixel circuits 60 each having a light emitting element and a drive element. A data line drive circuit 15 performs, by driving data lines, an operation of writing a voltage to a control terminal of the drive element and an operation of measuring a current flowing through the drive element for the pixel circuits 60 selected by a scanning line drive circuit 14. A bending detection unit 90 detects a bending state of the organic EL panel 10 based on a measurement result of the current flowing through the drive element. A correction unit 80 corrects a video signal VS1 based on the detected bending state. With this, the bending state of a screen is detected and a change in brightness or color when the screen is bent is prevented.

摘要: When a clock signal pulse number and a compensation-target-line address indicating a compensation-target row match, the following control is carried out with a time point being a starting point of a current measurement period, the time point being one horizontal scanning period after a time point of the match. At a current measurement period starting point and ending point, only the potential of the one of the clock signals applied to a unit circuit corresponding to the compensation-target row is changed. Throughout the current measurement period, the clock operation of the clock signals is stopped. A monitor enable signal, that is applied to a control terminal of an output control transistor for controlling active signal output to a monitor control line, is only set to a high level during the current measurement period.

In such a configuration, based on selection signals provided to the transistors, one of the transistors is brought into an on state in each subframe, and each of the transistors is brought into an on state once during one frame period.

摘要: In a current measurement period of a pixel circuit (20), a measurement voltage is applied to a non-inverting input terminal of an operational amplifier (31), switches (35, 36) turn on, and a switch (37) turns off. Next, the switch (36) turns off, and a capacitor (32) is charged with charge of a current flowing through the pixel circuit (20). Next, the switch (35) turns off, the switch (37) turns on, a constant current flows through a current source (33), and a voltage of a second terminal (terminal connected to an output terminal of the operational amplifier (31)) of the capacitor (32) decreases. A voltage comparator (42) and a counter (43) measure the current flowing through the pixel circuit (20) by measuring time until a voltage of the second terminal of the capacitor reaches a voltage Vcomp. A video signal VS1 is corrected based on a current measurement result. With this, it is possible to compensate for capacitance variation of a capacitance in a current measurement circuit and perform high image quality display.

When noise with a standard value or more is detected in the noise measurement step, processing of the correction data update step is not performed.

摘要: An embodiment of the present invention realizes a display device equipped with a self light-emitting type display element driven by a current, by using a pixel circuit having a configuration simpler than a conventional configuration. A pixel circuit includes a driving transistor (T1), an input transistor (T2), a capacitor (Cst), and three organic EL elements (OLED(R), OLED(G), and OLED(B)). Cathode terminals of the organic EL elements (OLED(R), OLED(G), and OLED(B)) are respectively connected to low-level power supply lines (ELVSS(R), ELVSS(G), and ELVSS(B)). In such a configuration, in each sub-frame, only a low-level power supply voltage (ELVSS) corresponding to the sub-frame is set to a relatively low level, and the other low-level power supply voltages (ELVSS) are set to relatively high levels.

摘要: When a display mode is a high-resolution mode, image display is performed by time division driving. When the display mode is a low-resolution mode, image display is performed by defining j pixel circuits arranged continuously in a direction in which scanning signal lines extend as one group, bringing only one organic EL element into a light-emitting state in each of the pixel circuits in a frame period, and bringing organic EL elements having respective light emission colors different from one another into a light-emitting state in the j pixel circuits included in each group in the frame period. Pixel circuits in a display unit are configured such that the intervals of organic EL elements which go into a light-emitting state in the frame period when in the low-resolution mode are equalized regarding a direction in which the scanning signal lines extend.
