    摘要: A signal which is to be used in high-speed playback is recorded in a predetermined region of a track. An error correcting check code region for recording an error correcting check code is formed at a position adjacent to the predetermined region. In accordance with the usage, an error correcting check code for high-speed playback, an error correcting check code for normal playback, or predetermined fixed data is recorded in the error correcting check code region. In a digital VTR which records and plays back data at plural kinds of data rates, trick playback data are recorded so that a head scans a subcode area or a VAUX area in high-speed playback at a predetermined tape running speed in each record mode. An area for recording an error correcting check code is used as an area for, in addition to an error correcting check code for normal playback, recording an error correcting check code for trick playback, normal playback data, or trick playback data.

    摘要: In a digital signal playback device for playing back data from a recording medium on which intraframe, intrafield, interframe or interfield encoded digital video signals and digital audio signals input in the form of packets have been recorded transparently, and special playback data for special playback generated from said intraframe or intrafield encoded digital video signals has been recorded at predetermined positions, the special playback data is separated from a playback signal during special playback, and stored in a data storage circuit stores the separated special playback data. A still image slice data generator generates slice data with the motion vectors being 0 and prediction errors being 0 for all macroblocks in the slice. A data controller controls the still image slice generator such that the slice data from the still image slice generator is output for a predetermined number of frames after the special playback data of one frame or one field separated from the data storage means has been output. With the above arrangement, memory capacity is reduced, circuit size is reduced, and special playback can be realized without causing the ATV decoder to recognize the special playback mode.

    摘要: In a digital VTR which receives at least a digital video signal input in the form of a bit stream, and which records the bit stream according to a transparent recording method, header information is extracted from the bit stream and modified. Intra-coded block components are also detected and extracted from the bit stream, and one track is configured with an area for recording the input bit stream and an area for recording fast playback HP data. Extracted as the intra-coded block components are a predefined number of orthogonal transform coefficients, and the fast playback HP data is configured without appending EOB codes to the intra-coding block components. Alternatively, EOB codes are appended except that the shortest EOB code from a plurality of code maps is used. The digital VTR also records more than one fast playback signal in predefined regions on predefined tracks such that a first playback signal is recorded in an area at one location on one track, while a second playback signal is recorded in a plurality of areas on a track adjacent thereto.

Information of K symbols is encoded with a first error-correcting code C1 and appended with (N-K) check symbols. After that, m symbols out of the check symbols are punctured, and the information of K symbols is divided into a block of K.sub.1 symbols and a block of K.sub.2 symbols, the block of K.sub.1 symbols being further encoded with a second error-correcting code Cm and appended with m.sub.1 check symbols for error correction. For efficient error-correction coding of auxiliary data which is usually not used but which becomes necessary on occasions, the presence or absence of auxiliary data is written in ID information, and the number of error-correcting check symbols is changed accordingly.
