    摘要: A non-heat refining steel having a high fatigue strength in addition to an excellent machinability, which consists essentially of 0.30-0.50 wt % of C, 0.35-0.70 wt % of Si, 0.80-1.40 wt % of Mn, 0.30-0.80 wt % of Cr, 0.05-0.35 wt % of V, not more than 0.15 wt % of S and not more than 0.35 wt % of Pb so that (S+Pb) is not less than 0.06 wt % and (S+Pb/4) is not more than 0.15 wt %, 0.0003 to 0.0050 wt % of Ca, not more than 0.010 wt % of Al, 0.0015-0.0030 wt % of O and the balance of being Fe and inevitable impurities, and has a micro-structure composed of 10 to 40% by area of ferrite and balanced pearlite after hot working and air cooling.

    摘要: A combination of a first slide member made of ferrous material in which at least a slide surface layer thereof has a metallurgical structure having granular carbides dispersed in a matrix phase, and a second slide member made of ferrous material in which at least a slide surface layer thereof has a metallurgical structure having network-like carbides dispersed in a martensite matrix phase. A proportion of an area occupied by the granular carbides on the slide surface of the first slide member is larger than a proportion of an area occupied by the network-like carbides on the slide surface of the second slide member, and owing to this difference in these occupied area proportions, generation of coagulative wear (scuffing) between the respective slide members can be effectively prevented, and a good anti-wear property is obtainable from viewpoints of scuffing as well as pitting.

    摘要: A valve operating mechanism for operating a valve in an internal combustion engine includes a hydraulic lash adjuster for imposing a hydraulic pressure against a cam follower slidably engaging a camshaft. The hydraulic lash adjuster includes a plunger slidably disposed in a cylinder and defining an oil chamber communicating with a pressure chamber between the plunger and the cylinder through a valve hole which can selectively be opened and closed by a free-ball check valve. The plunger is normally urged by a spring to move in a direction out of the cylinder toward the cam follower. The cam follower acts on an end of the valve stem of the valve through an interlink mechanism having an adjusting device for adjusting the volume of the pressure chamber of the hydraulic lash adjuster.

    摘要: An apparatus for continuously manufacturing a corrugated sheet having a varying fold width and also having fold lines extending either straight or in wavy or zig-zag fashion in a direction widthwise thereof. The apparatus includes upper and lower toothed rolls each made up of a group of toothed discs and having a circumferential groove defined between each neighboring toothed discs. At least one of the upper and lower toothed rolls is supported for adjustment in position relative to and in a direction towards and away from the other of the upper and lower toothed rolls. Upper and lower guide bars while extending in a direction parallel to the upper and lower toothed rolls are accommodated within the circumferential grooves for movement in a direction towards and away from each other over a distance corresponding to the height of each tooth of any one of the upper and lower toothed rolls. During a continuous passage of the web of sheet through a biting region defined between the upper and lower toothed rolls, the web of sheet is alternately folded by the interaction between the upper and lower toothed rolls to provide the corrugated sheet.

The oil passage system includes a first supply passage connected to the oil pump, a second supply passage connected between the first supply passage and a first distribution passage coupled to a group of hydraulic lash adjusters, a joint passage connected to the first distribution passage, and a second distribution passage coupled to the joint passage and connected to another group of hydraulic lash adjusters. The second distribution passage is connected by air vent passages to a lubricating oil passage which supplies the camshaft with the lubricating oil. The joint passage is connected to one of the camshaft journals by a relief passage having a relief valve.

    摘要: A titanium alloy is prepared containing 2 to 4% by weight of aluminum, 1.5 to 2.5% by weight of vanadium, 0.20 to 0.45% by weight of a rare earth element (not essential). 0.05 to 0.11% by weight of sulfur (not essential), and titanium substantially for the remainder, the ratio of the rear earth element content to the sulfur content ranging from 3.8 to 4.2. This titanium alloy is rough-formed and hot-forged at a temperature in a .beta. region, and the resulting titanium alloy ingot is processed directly into a titanium alloy component having a desired shape. The titanium alloy component thus manufactured has a satisfactory fatigue strength and is also excellent in machinability, and can be used for connecting rods, valves, retainers, etc. to be incorporated in the engine of an automobile.
