    摘要: The invention provides a coated metal substrate comprising a metal substrate having an outer surface, a maskant film adhered to at least a portion of the outer surface of the metal substrate, the maskant film having a pattern of scribed lines therein, and a line sealant composition applied to the scribed lines in a maskant film. Both the maskant film and the line sealant composition are preferably radiation cured and substantially solvent-free. The invention also provides a method of protecting a metal substrate from chemical exposure by utilizing the radiation-cured maskant film and line sealant composition.

    摘要: Conversion coatings based on cobalt are described for substrate metals such as aluminum, zinc, magnesium, titanium, cadmium, silver, copper, tin, lead, cobalt, zirconium, beryllium, or indium, their alloys, or items coated with these metals. The conversion coating contains a trivalent or tetravalent cobalt/valence stabilizer complex. The coating bath may also contain a preparative agent or solubility control agent. The oxidized cobalt is present in the coating in a nullsparingly solublenull form. The valence stabilizers can be either inorganic or organic in nature. Cobalt/valence stabilizer combinations are chosen based on the well-founded principles of cobalt coordination chemistry. A number of cobalt/valence stabilizer combinations that match the performance of conventional hexavalent chromium systems are presented.

    摘要: A fuser member for fusing thermoplastic resin toner images to a substrate has an aluminum base member and an elastomer fusing surface of a poly(vinylidenefluoride-hexafluoropropylene-tetrafluoroethylene) where the vinylidenefluoride is present in an amount less than 40 mole percent, the elastomer having been cured from a solvent solution thereof with a nucleophilic curing agent soluble in the solution and in the presence of 5 or less than 4 parts by weight of inorganic base per 100 parts of polymer, the inorganic base being effective to at least partially dehydrofluorinate the vinylidenefluoride, and an adhesive layer between the surface of said aluminum base member and the elastomer fusing surface, the adhesive layer having been cured from a solvent solution of a poly(vinylidenefluoride-hexafluoropropylene-tetrafluoroethylene) where the vinylidenefluoride is present in an amount less than 40 mole percent and from about 6 to 20 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of said poly(vinylidenefluoride hexafluoropropylene-tetrafluoroethylene) of an amino silane represented by the formula: ##STR1## where R can be an alkyl group having 1 to 7 carbon atoms; R' can be an alkyl group having 1 to 7 carbon atoms or a polyalkoxyalkyl group of less than 7 carbon atoms; Y is an amino group or an amino substituted alkyl, or a polyamino substituted alkyl, or an alkenylalkoxy amino, or an aryl amino group of less than 15 carbon atoms, h is 1 to 3, b is 0 to 2, q is 1 or 2 and h+b=3.
