An electronic device according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure may include a display for displaying an icon and an indicator which indicates presence of notification information regarding an application corresponding to the icon; and a processor electrically connected to the display, wherein the processor may receive a first user input in at least part of a region which displays the indicator, while the icon and the indicator are displayed, execute a function corresponding to the icon if the first user input is a touch input, and control the display to display information regarding the notification information on a screen if the first user input is a force touch.

According to various examples of the present invention, an electronic device for controlling a plurality of displays can comprise: a first display for displaying a first screen; a second display for displaying a second screen; and a control unit for determining attributes of the first screen and the second screen, for determining whether to display, on a display that does not enter into an idle mode, a screen displayed on a display that enters into the idle mode in correspondence to the entry into the idle mode of either the first display or the second display, and for controlling the first display or the second display such that the first screen or the second screen is displayed thereon. An apparatus and method for setting a fingerprint recognition region in an electronic device are provided. An electronic device includes a display, a finger scan sensor overlapped with at least a partial region of the display, and a processor. The processor controls to detect a touch input for at least one object displayed at the display, when detecting a first fingerprint image through a fingerprint recognition region corresponding to the touch input, enlarge a size of the fingerprint recognition region, detect a second fingerprint image through the enlarged fingerprint recognition region, and when having succeeded in user authentication by using the second fingerprint image, perform a function corresponding to the at least one object.
