摘要: A current interruption apparatus comprises a series-connected combination of at least one vacuum interrupter and at least one gas-blast interrupter. Each vacuum interrupter is coupled in parallel with a non-linear resistor, while each gas-blast interrupter is coupled in parallel with a capacitor. During the initial period of the recovery voltage developed upon current interruption, most of the recovery voltage is applied to the vacuum interrupter. After the instant at which the non-linear resistor represents its constant voltage characteristics, the SF.sub.6 gas-blast interrupter will take the largest portion of the entire voltage increased thereafter.

摘要: Circuit interrupting apparatus for interrupting large direct currents comprising a plurality of parallelly connected branch circuits each including a circuit breaker and a saturable reactor connected in series therewith, and a commutating circuit including a capacitor. When opening the circuit breakers the commutating circuit is connected across the branch circuits to pass commutating current in the direction opposite to the normal load current. When the current decreases below a predetermined value, the saturable reactors desaturate to efficiently interrupt the load current.

摘要: A DC circuit breaker of the type using a blown arc-extinguishing gas is disclosed which allows for reliable fast interruption of DC currents through the provision of arc extension current paths. The extension current paths are relatively long and are bent after the incidence of the arc-extinguishing gas on the arc. The arc is formed to extend for a long distance in a loop configuration. An auxiliary electrode short-circuits the extended arc with one auxiliary electrode being provided for each extension current path.

摘要: An electrode structure disposed in a vacuum switch generally comprises a pair of relatively separable electrodes and a pair of contacts provided on the opposing surfaces of the electrodes and surface areas of the contacts are selected to be smaller than the surface areas of the electrodes. The vapor pressure P.sub.0 and specific resistance .rho..sub.0 of the electrode material and the vapor pressure P.sub.1 and specific resistance .rho..sub.1 of the contact material are held in a relation ##EQU1## and values representing specific heat, heat of fusion and heat of evaporation of the contact material are 100.+-.20% of those of the electrode material except a portion on which the contact material is provided.

摘要: In a gas insulated disconnecting switch, a movable contact assembly comprises a stationary cylinder, a coaxial cylindrical movable conductive contact, and a coaxial rod-shaped movable arc electrode. A compression chamber is formed between the stationary cylinder and the movable conductive contact. A damping chamber is formed between the movable conductive contact and the movable arc electrode. Because of controlled flow of gas into and out of these chambers, the speed at which the movable arc electrode is brought into contact with the stationary arc electrode is restricted and possibility of breakage of the arc electrodes is eliminated.

摘要: Within an arc extinguishing chamber are disposed a pair of main electrodes so as to cause a spark starting gap to be defined therebetween. A single auxiliary electrode is also disposed so as to cause reignition in those interspaces between the auxiliary electrode and the respective main electrodes at positions distant from said spark starting gap. 摘要: A CO.sub.2 gas laser device comprises a plurality of divided cathode electrodes disposed in a linear row extending transversely across a high-speed flow of a gas containing CO.sub.2, and parts of the cathode electrodes producing negative glow are disposed at the same height as anodes at a downstream position. Additionally, a device for controlling the distribution of gas flow velocity, which functions doubly as means for creating turbulent flow, and a preliminary discharge electrode are disposed on the upstream side of the cathode electrodes, the former being set at a height position corresponding substantially to that of the middle portions of the cathode electrodes.
