摘要： An automatic transmission shift control device which prevents shifting from the "Park" position to any other position unless the ignition key is at the "on" position and the brake pedal is fully depressed. A safety feature is incorporated so as to insure against accidental gear shifting. To shift the control from the "Park" position a control button located on the shift handle is manually pressed. The control button mechanically depresses a linkage rod which in turn moves the shift position pin out of its "Park" locking position. However, the linkage rod cannot move downward unless a bushing which has clearance slots for the position pin is rotated by a solenoid, which is acuated only when the ignition is "on" and the brake pedal is pressed. Also, the bushing surface in proximity to the bushing slots is shaped so as to prevent accidental engagement of the positioning pins.

摘要： A control lever of a column-mounted control device for an automatic transmission is installed on a steering column in such a way as to be rotatable in the circumferential direction of the steering column for selection of gears. A location mechanism is operative to releasably limit rotation of the control lever in the circumferential direction of the steering column and locates the control lever in one of gear positions including a stoppage gear. The control lever is released from the above described limitation in rotation in the circumferential direction of the steering column when pulled toward a driver's seat. A location sensor is operative to detect that the above described limitation in rotation of the control lever is performed in the stoppage gear by the location mechanism and produce a stoppage signal representative thereof. A brake sensor is operative to detect a braking operation and produce a braking signal representative thereof. A shift lock mechanism prevents the pulling of the control lever toward the driver's seat and disables the control lever from being released from the above described limitation in rotation by the location means when receiving the stoppage signal only. When the shift lock mechanism receives both of the stoppage signal and the braking signal, it allows the pulling of the control lever toward the driver's seat and enables the control lever from being released from the above described limitation in rotation by the location mechanism.

摘要： A position pin is pushed down by an effort applied on a control button to disengage the position pin from a position plate when a selector lever is to be moved from a parking position to other gear positions. A bushing is mounted on a post of the selector lever for ratation but against axial movement. The bushing has at the upper end a pair of diameterically opposed notches with which the position pin is engaged when pushed down to effect the above disengagement. When an ignition key is at the "on" position and the selector lever is at the parking position, the bushing is rotated into a position where the notches are misaligned with the position pin unless a brake pedal is fully depressed, i.e., an effort applied on the control button for pushing the position pin downward is received by the upper end of the bushing whereby downward movement of the position pin for disengagement thereof from the position plate is prevented by the bushing and therefore it is impossible to move the selector lever from the parking position to other gear positions.

摘要： A mechanism is provided for controlling vehicle ignition lock and transmission shift lock in an interlocked relation to each other. The mechanism comprises a lock member movable into a lock position for blocking up a passage to a Park position of a position plate. An operating member drives the lock member into the lock position in response to upward movement of a position pin in the Park position. A stopper of an ignition lock is movable between a lock position for preventing rotation of a key rotor into a lock position and an unlock position for allowing the same. A cable interconnects the lock member and the stopper to allow them to move in unison such that movement of the lock member into the lock position causes the stopper to move into the unlock position and movement of the stopper into the lock position causes the lock member to move into the unlock position. A spring is installed in the ignition lock for urging the stopper toward the lock position.

摘要： In an automatic transmission shift control device, a rocking lever and a second biasing unit are provided for holding a selector lever in a shiftable condition when the selector lever is in one of the gear positions other than a parking position. A first biasing unit is provided for holding the selector lever in a locked condition when the selector lever is in the parking position. A solenoid is provided for releasing the selector lever from a locked condition when energized. The solenoid is energized only when a brake pedal is fully depressed under a condition where an ignition key is in an "ON" position and the selector lever is in the park position.

摘要： A shift lever unit is disclosed, which comprises a shift lever; a housing of plastic having an upper cover portion, the upper cover portion being formed with a slot through which the shift lever passes; a position mark plate of transparent plastic mounted on the upper cover portion, the position mark plate having a plurality of position marks on an upper surface thereof; a light blocking layer covering the upper surface of the position mark plate except the positions where the position marks are located; a light source installed in the housing; a light conductive member of transparent plastic, the light conductive member including a horizontal part whose leading end is formed with a first light reflecting surface and located behind the position mark plate, a vertical part which is formed with a rounded recess from which the light rays from the light source enter the vertical part, and a jointed part at which the horizontal and vertical parts are jointed, the jointed part being formed with a second light reflecting surface by which the light rays from the rounded recess is reflected toward the first light reflecting surface; a plurality of raised window portions formed by the horizontal part of the light conductive member, the window portions being exposed to the outside of the housing at positions beside the position marks; and a pointer movably located within the housing below the raised window portions, the pointer being movable together with the shift lever, wherein the first light reflecting surface is granulated.

A bracket is secured to a pivot pin rotatable about a second axis extending laterally with respect to the first axis. A gear shift lever is secured to the bracket for unitary rotation therewith about the second axis. A sleeve is fixed to the gear shift lever for unitary motion therewith. A check ball is supported by the sleeve and urged against a cam surface of a stationary position plate. The cam surface has a plurality of recesses engaged with the check ball.
