摘要: A network system comprises a network of data sources interconnecting plural clients by way plural network devices. A data server achieves flexibility in its use of network resources by altering the attributes of one or more network devices along the communication channels between the data server and the plural clients. This is accomplished during the normal course of data transmissions to the plural clients, thus providing real time control over the network device attribute. The invention is particularly useful in data servers, such as a video server system, in which data transmissions are characterized by a long sequence of data packets.

摘要: A system is described which enables provision of information to a stored program operating on a computer coupled to the network. A device connected to the network includes input ports for receiving information and output ports for providing the received information to a destination. The computer is coupled to receive information from the output port, which information is addressed to the computer. Within the device a flow control table holds entries which include source addresses representative of at least one source of information arriving at the device input ports, destination addresses representative of at least one of the destinations to which the arriving information is to be sent from an output port. The table entries also include action information for each address, and the action information can take the form of a program reference. When the information is received by the computer it can use the received information in execution of the stored program.

摘要: A core network that includes a number of relay nodes and edge nodes, intercoupled by network links, interconnects a plurality data transfer entities through gateway elements. Each gateway element is allocated a portion of the data communicating (QoS) resource of certain of the links, and maintains information of that allocation. When a gateway receives a request for a data transfer from a data transfer entity with a particular communicating resource requirement, it will check its associated information to determine of the allocated resource is sufficient. If not, the gateway may ask for a reconfiguration of resources that re-allocate communicating resource from one gateway element to the asking gateway element.

摘要: When one-video program data (layer-coded data) of a plurality of layers is transmitted in a single channel, a video signal is layer-coded in an MPEG system, the layer-coded ES (Elementary Stream) data is converted to a PES (Packetized Elementary Stream) for each layer, and the PES is then converted to a RTP (Real-Time Protocol) packet, which is then converted to a UDP (User Datagram Protocol). An identifier is then annexed to a UDP packet data for each layer to form an IP (Internet Protocol) packet.

摘要: A data communication system for a computer system in which a plurality of computers are mutually connected includes: a plurality of computers each having an area to store a command to execute a data communication on the basis of it and a buffer area to store data; a switch circuit to mutually selectively connect the plurality of computers; and a transmission permitting component, connected between the switch circuit and one of the plurality of computers, for outputting a signal to permit the data transmission from such one computer to such another computer; a communication component for transmitting the data received from such one computer by outputting the transmission permission signal from the transmission permitting component to such another computer through the switch circuit; a detecting component to detect the occurrence of an abnormality regarding the data communication from such one computer to such another computer; and a communication control component to abandon the data that is subsequently received from such one computer by outputting the transmission permission signal in accordance with an output of the detecting component. When the abnormality occurs, the switch circuit releases such another computer, thereby disconnecting such one computer and such another computer. When reception commands prepared in the buffer area of such another computer are perfectly used, such another computer abandons the packet which does not include the flag to instruct the continuous reception.

摘要: To prevent a hung-up of communications due to changes in a radio wave condition resulting from frequent displacement of the terminals and changes in a number of the terminals, and to realize switching of the radio systems adapting to the radio condition. A radio communication system comprising: a base station for providing a plurality of radio systems, and terminals for communicating with the base station through the plurality of radio systems. The base station decides a priority of the radio system on which the each terminal will communicate thereafter and transmits paging signals of one of the plurality of radio systems which includes information on the decided priority to the each terminal.

摘要: A motion picture image editing method and in particular, a method for detecting such camera works as zooming and panning motions from a motion picture image stored in video tape or the like. In this method, a motion picture image constituted by a plurality of consecutive picture images on every frame basis, and on time series basis and on the basis of a correlation value for a displacement between the frames at a typical point determined for each of small blocks constituting the motion picture image, a motion vector for each of the small blocks is detected. Then a first motion parameter for estimation of a motion of a camera is generated with use of the motion vector detected at corresponding one of the typical points of first one of the frames. Or the first motion parameter for estimation of the motion of the camera is generated with use of a combination of the motion vector and a position vector at corresponding one of the typical points of a second frame inputted previous by one frame to the first frame. Further, the first motion parameters for the respective frames are found, the found first motion parameters are integrated until an integrated value exceeds a predetermined allowable value, and the integrated value is averaged through an integration period to calculate a second motion parameter for determination of the camera motion for the integration period. Finally, the camera motion is detected on the basis of the second motion parameter.
