Abstract: A technique facilitates improved actuation and use of packers disposed along a well string and placed in a borehole, e.g. a wellbore. A plurality of packers may be disposed along a base pipe, e.g. a production tubing. Each packer has an expandable sleeve which may be expanded into a fully expanded configuration establishing a secure, sealing engagement with a surrounding wall. e.g. a surrounding wellbore wall. Additionally, a hydrolock prevention valve system comprises a valve which may be actuated to allow or block the flow of fluid from an annular region or regions between the packers.

Abstract: A technique facilitates monitoring of parameters along the exterior of a tubing/casing deployed in a borehole. An array of sensors is positioned outside of the tubing/casing and within a borehole wall. The array of sensors is coupled to a surface via a communication line routed through an inductive coupler system. The inductive coupler system has a first inductive coupler member located at an outside position and a second inductive coupler member located at an inside position with respect to the tubing/casing. The arrangement enables real-time monitoring of events outside of the tubing/casing.

Abstract: A seal assembly made up of multiple opposite oriented unidirectional seals. The assembly includes a dedicated test port for each of the unidirectional seals. Thus, a first test port may be directed at the first seal such that if the first seal leaks, the second seal is configured to collapse and allow a second test port coupled thereto to detect the leak of the first seal. By the same token, the first test port may be used to detect any leak in the second seal which is detectable as the first seal collapses as a result of the leak. This unique type of architecture allows for a reliable manner of testing a multiple seal assembly that may be prone to leaks from multiple directions, for example from either a bore or an annular side of a tubular. This renders the bidirectionally testable seal configuration beneficial for incorporation into downhole completions hardware such at the location of a test gauge secured to a carrier device.

Abstract: A drill stem test string may include a tubular body having an axial bore formed at least partially therethrough. An axial flow valve may be coupled to the first tubular body and allow fluid to flow axially through the first tubular body when in an open state and prevent fluid from flowing axially through the first tubular body when in a closed state. A radial flow valve may be coupled to the first tubular body and allow fluid to flow radially through the first tubular body when in an open state and prevent fluid from flowing radially through the first tubular body when in a closed state. A seal assembly may be coupled to an outer surface of the first tubular body and positioned between a lower end of the first tubular member and the first radial flow valve.

Abstract: A completions fluid loss control system for incorporation into upper completion hardware. The system allows for the avoidance of a dedicated intermediate completion installation in advance of upper completion delivery to a lower completion at a formation interface. The system includes a unique cup packer and flow regulation arrangement such that annular fluid thereabove may be isolated away from space below the system while at the same time allowing annular fluid therebelow to bypass the system. As such, the upper completion may be advanced toward the installed lower completion while maintaining well control at the noted formation interface.

Abstract: An actuator assembly for effective interventionless activation of a valve in wells of multilateral architecture. The assembly may be pressure actuated from an oilfield surface even in certain circumstances where another valve in another leg of the well has been opened in a manner compromising pressure control of the well.
