摘要: A process for producing a meso-compound-containing lactide, comprising thermally decomposing a hydroxycarboxylic acid oligomer in the presence of a salt of an alkali metal except sodium and in the presence or absence of a metal of the groups 4 to 15 of the periodic table and/or a salt thereof; and a process for purifying a crude lactide comprising recrystallizing a crude lactide using a poor solvent and a good solvent selected from aliphatic tertiary alcohols, ketones and esters are disclosed. The production ratio of a meso-lactide can be controlled by selection of the kind and the amount of a catalyst so as to obtain a lactide having an appropriate optical purity suitable for production of biodegradable polymers. The purification process achieves a high recovery.

摘要: A connector includes a housing in which a recess having an opening on a rear face is provided, and a slider to be slid in the recess. A flexible substrate is inserted in the recess with the slider so that a contact on the flexible substrate is connected to a contact on the housing. On both sides of the slider, a pair of lock arms are provided for fixing the slider to the housing when the slider is fitted in the housing. Parts of the respective lock arms in the recess are exposed out of the housing at portions near both sides of the upper face of the housing when the slider is fitted in the housing, and either of the lock arms in the recess are not exposed out of the housing when the slider is not fitted in the housing. Each portion of the housing where each lock arm is exposed is provided near a corner portion where the upper face, a side face, and a front face of the housing are perpendicularly connected to each other.

摘要: A device for reading servo information from a medium in a buried servo magnetic head system. The device consists of a coil for reading/writing data in the medium and a coil for reading the low-frequency servo signal, both coils being wound around the same core. The servo coil has a greater number of turns than the read/write coil which results in the servo signal having a lower resonance frequency than the read/write signal. By obtaining a separate read/write signal and a servo signal produced from a single core in a single head, physical positional errors are avoided without sacrificing the optimization of the separate signals.
