    摘要: Disclosed herein is an ink comprising a dye having at least one anionic group, an amino acid type polyamine or a polyethyleneimine containing at least 7 nitrogen atoms in its molecule, and water, wherein the dye is either a metallized azo dye or a nonmetallized azo dye satisfying the following conditions (x) and (y) at the same time:(x) no anionic group is situated at an ortho position to the azo bond, and at least one anionic group exists at another position than the ortho position to the azo bond; and(y) at least one aromatic residue is bonded to the azo bond, and the aromatic ring of the aromatic residue is a benzene or naphthalene ring, with the proviso that the aromatic rings situated on both sides of the azo bond are not naphthalene rings at the same time if present.

    摘要: An ink jet recording apparatus includes a recording head having a liquid path and a discharge part for discharging ink therethrough, an electromechanical conversion element and a control device. The electromechanical conversion element is correspondingly provided on the liquid path for effecting ink discharge. The control device controls the element by performing a first step of applying a pre-electrical signal to the element, a second step performed after the first step, of applying a main electrical signal, and a third step of applying a subsequent electrical signal to the element before the voltage of the main electrical signal reaches zero. The pre-electrical signal is applied to the element in a direction opposite that which will discharge ink. The second step applies the main electrical signal to the element in the direction of ink discharge for discharging ink in accordance with a recording signal. The third step, performed after ink is discharged by the second step, applies a sub-electrical signal to the element in the direction of ink discharge to prevent meniscus retraction. The sub-electrical signal smoothly changes and quickly attenuates vibration of meniscus caused by drive of the element by the main electrical signal.

    摘要: Provided is a computer system including at least one host computer; and at least one storage system, characterized in that: the storage system has a disk drive and a disk controller, and provides a storage area of the disk drive as at least one logical unit; upon detecting a failure in a logical path serving as an access route from the host computer to the logical unit, the host computer specifies logical paths for accessing the same logical unit that is connected to the logical path where the failure is detected; the host computer executes failure detecting processing for the specified logical paths to judge whether the specified logical paths are normal or not; the host computer selects normal logical paths out of the specified logical paths; and the host computer accesses the logical unit via the normal logical paths selected.
