摘要: In a CATV-LAN in which a plurality of modems transmit messages asynchronously from respective terminal apparatuses to an upstream transmission path and receives messages from a downstream transmission path, when a modem is transmitting a message, the resultant data which are received by that modem are compared with data of that message which have already been transmitted, and transmission is interrupted if the received data do not correctly match the transmitted data, due to conflict with data transmitted by some other modem. Each message contains information specifying its length, and when a non-transmitting modem receives a set of data whose actual length does not match a length value which is specified within the data, the data are discarded. It thereby becomes unnecessary to provide beat detection circuits in the modems, for detecting data conflict, so that system cost can be reduced.

摘要: A picture transmission system capable of establishing arbitrary picture connections with picture inputting units exceeding in number channel resources of a transmission medium for multiplexing and transmitting video information taken through the picture inputting units. A picture sending state storage unit provided corresponding to each of the picture inputting units virtually retains channel resources whose number equals the number of picture outputting units to which the picture inputting units are in connection. For picture connection switching from one picture outputting unit to a different picture inputting unit, the picture sending state storage unit gives its channel resource to the different picture inputting unit. The system is provided with a picture connection managing unit for controlling the picture connections between the picture inputting units and the picture outputting units. The picture connection managing unit accepts a picture connection request to perform the centralized management of channel resources of the transmission medium to allow dynamic channel resource allocation. Under control of the picture connection managing unit, the picture connection between the picture inputting unit and the picture outputting unit takes place through an allocated channel resource.

摘要: A recording and reproducing apparatus and method which prevents or managing a data loss caused by each of seek operations in recording/reproducing a time-series digital data set, to/from a disk recording media via a buffer. Beforerecording/reproducing, a check is made, by using a rate of data transfer with the outside, a data transfer rate in an access to a track where each of the selected sectors lies, and a seek time for each of changes in tracks, to see if the buffer will overflow/underflow during the period of recording/reproducing. If so, then an input/output data transfer rate is reduced before recording/reproducing to make the check. In case of recording, if there is at least a substitute for a sector which will cause the overflow, the sector is changed to a substitute.

摘要: A recording apparatus that can implement an endless recording function and a prealert recording function for video and audio data using a single random access recording medium having excellent random accessibility will be provided. The recording apparatus includes: an input section 101 that receives data; a recording section 103 that has a random access recording medium and makes a data recording onto the random access recording medium; and a control section 104 that sequentially records data onto recording sectors by controlling data transfer between the input section and the recording section. By causing the control section to repetitively overwrite data to a recording area, the endless recording function can be implemented.

摘要: A screw-drive conveying apparatus has on a conveying traveling body side, a first driven roller pair having a shorter distance between two driven front and rear rollers and a second driven roller pair having a longer distance between two driven front and rear rollers. A first screw shaft row with which the respective driven rollers of the first driven roller pair are engaged and a second screw shaft row with which the respective driven rollers of the second driven roller pair are engaged are provided on a traveling path side. The length of screw discontinued spaces between both screw shaft rows is equal to the distance between the driven rollers of the driven roller pair engaged with the screw shaft row on the upstream side.

摘要: A user terminal is connected through the Internet to a server. On the basis of the identification information of the client inputted from the client terminal, the server extracts an service selected by the client from a database for user management, further, extracts calculated maintenance contents for each service from a database for service management and sends them to the user terminal. Thus, the user can collect maintenance contents, such as the staff capable of providing service, the time until the user receives a service, and the charge, so that the user can utilize the information as indications to select an optimal service such as maintenance.

摘要: In an image reading apparatus, a white reference member for obtaining a reference value used in shading correction in the reading mechanism and an elastic member for cleaning a surface of the transparent member are provided such that respective positions of the white reference member and the elastic member with respect to the transparent member are variable. A controller controls the positions of these members with respect to the transparent member to alternately achieve movement of the white reference member to a position where the white reference member faces the transparent member and movement of the elastic member to a position where the elastic member faces the transparent member. The controller calculates the above reference value using a plurality of detection values read by the reading mechanism through the above positional control.
