The cured ceramer composition, in its simplest embodiment, is derived from a composition including inorganic oxide particles and a curable organic matrix, with the curable organic matrix including at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer and at least one organofunctional silane monomer coupling agent.

The edges of the ribbon are formed to interlock with each other and are contoured to facilitate ultrasonic welding of the edges.
