A channel equalizing and carrier recovery system for home phoneline networking alliance (HomePNA) receiver and method thereof are provided. The channel equalizing system includes a frequency diverse quadrature amplitude modulation (FD-QAM) equalizer and a quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) equalizer. The FD-QAM equalizer receives an FD-QAM signal, determines FD-QAM tap coefficients, and equalizes the FD-QAM signal using the FD-QAM tap coefficients. The QAM equalizer receives a QAM signal, determines QAM tap coefficients, and equalizes the QAM signal using the QAM tap coefficients. The QAM equalizer receives the FD-QAM signal and determines the QAM tap coefficients during a predetermined header period. The carrier recovery circuit includes a phase detector, a loop filter, and a numerically controlled oscillator (NCO). The phase detector uses a phase difference between a reception symbol and a decision signal of the reception symbol as an instantaneous phase difference when the reception symbol is a data symbol of an FD-QAM signal or a symbol of a QAM signal, uses “0” as the instantaneous phase difference when the reception symbol is a zero symbol of the FD-QAM signal, averages instantaneous phase differences during a predetermined period or time, and outputs the result of averaging. The loop filter filters the output signal of the phase detector. The NCO generates an oscillation signal having a variable phase in response to an output signal of the loop filter so that a phase error of a reception signal can be controlled.

A receiver performing a stable operation in a burst mode is provided. The receiver transmits packet data using a preamble, and has good acquisition performance so that a synchronization part converges on a preamble interval. For the acquisition performance, the receiver senses the carrier of a received signal, detects a rough location of a burst, and in response to the result of carrier sensing, performs coarse gain control, symbol timing compensation, and frame synchronization. Then, if the frame synchronization is completed, in response to the result of frame synchronization, the receiver performs fine gain control, equalization of the signal, and carrier recovery.

In the cathode ray tube according to the present invention, it is possible to block the influences of terrestrial magnetic fields with a magnetic field shielding portion having a simple structure.

The X-ray control unit includes a light source configured to generate X-rays, an X-ray control filter formed of a monocrystalline material having grown in one direction and configured to filter the X-rays generated by the light source to reflect and transmit characteristic X-rays, and an adjustor configured to adjust the light source and the X-ray control filter to arbitrary angles. Since X-rays having a specific wavelength can be selectively used by using a filter, the X-rays can be easily controlled and their intensity can be easily regulated. A characteristic line of the X-rays can be controlled and their intensity can be regulated without directly controlling an X-ray source.

The wireless LAN system is capable of receiving signals of different standards, by performing a first preamble processing of an input signal for a predetermined first time period of 16 μs (the preamble processing time period according to an OFDM standard for determining whether the input signal corresponds to the OFDM standard), and performing a second preamble processing within a predetermined second time period (the remainder of a preamble processing time period for determining whether the input signal corresponds to a DSSS/CCK standard), if the input signal does not correspond to the OFDM standard. Therefore, DSSS/CCK and OFDM signals can be transmitted and received reliably in the integrated wireless LAN system according to the IEEE 802.11.g standard.

An interconnecting method for a semiconductor device is disclosed in which a conductive layer containing aluminum is formed on a lower structure formed on a substrate. An insulating layer is formed on the conductive layer. A photoresist pattern for defining a portion where an opening is to be made is formed on the insulating layer. Then, the insulating layer is isotropically etched by wet etching with the photoresist pattern as an etching mask. The insulating layer remaining after the isotropical etching is taper-etched by RIE to form the opening. To ensure that the conductive layer is exposed by the opening, the resultant structure is overetched by using a mixed gas of fluorocarbon-containing gas and oxygen. This resultant structure is RIE-sputtered using fluorocarbon-containing gas such that polymer or nonvolatile by-products generated when the opening such as a via hole is formed, are completely removed.
