    摘要: A method and device for real-time mechanical and dosimetric quality assurance measurements in radiation therapy provides a unified measurement of mechanical motion and radiation components of the machine. The device includes an imaging surface for receiving multiple energy sources. The imaging surface has an imaging plane positioned on a same plane as an isocenter of a medical accelerator. A camera measures and records data related to the multiple energy sources. A mirror system can be used to direct the multiple energy sources to the camera for further processing. However, in some instances the mirror system may not be necessary. Accordingly, a single device can be used to unify the measurement of mechanical motion and radiation component of the machine. The device can also include computer control in order to automate the movement of the device and/or automation of the QA protocol.

    摘要: A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) compatible sensor for measuring torque with respect to an axis of rotation in conjunction with an applied linear force includes a shaft arranged in a longitudinal direction substantially along the axis of rotation, a base component arranged along the axis of rotation and displaced with respect to the shaft, a torque detector assembly configured to be coupled to rotational motion of the shaft about the axis of rotation relative to the base component, and a linear-force detector assembly configured to be coupled to linear motion of the shaft from a force applied in a direction substantially coincident with the axis of rotation relative to the base component. The torque detector assembly and the linear-force detector assembly are substantially de-coupled from each other such that torque measurements are substantially independent of linear force measurements. The MRI compatible sensor consists essentially of MRI compatible materials.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a device to firmly grasp and manipulate delicate tissues in microsurgery, while precisely measuring tool-tissue interaction forces in three dimensions (x-y-z). The design enables precise measurement of forces at the tool tip without being influenced by other forces that may act on the tool shaft. The device of the present invention is capable of measuring axial (z) forces together with the transverse forces (x-y) on an actuated (not static) instrument. Fiber optic sensors are embedded into strategic locations of the design to decouple and precisely detect force components (x-y-z) separately. The force information is used to provide feedback to the operator, or to a robotic platform. The exerted forces on critical tissues, such as the retina in eye surgery, can be maintained at a safe level, clinical complications due to excessive forces can be lessened, safety, and outcome of microsurgical procedures can be enhanced.

    摘要: An optical imaging system for interfacing with a separate examination apparatus and methods of making and using the same are disclosed. The optical imaging system can include an imaging housing including a housing enclosure and a housing receptor plate, a subject support mount, a cart including an extendable arm, an optical arrangement including an optical source, a cantilever mirror system, and the housing enclosure, and a detection optical path providing optical communication between the cantilever mirror system and an optical detector. The subject support mount allows optical illumination via at least one optical port. The extendable arm is affixed to the cart at one end and the optical arrangement at another end. The extendable arm can move from a retracted position to an extended position without contacting the subject support mount or the subject.

The delivery channel extends from the container to an exterior of the dispenser. The locking assembly can open and close the opening in the housing to restrict access to the container through the opening by unauthorized users. The dispensing mechanism can dispense a pill from the container to the exterior of the dispenser via the delivery channel when activated by an authorized user of the pill dispenser.
