摘要: A system for detecting rare cells in a fluid is disclosed. The system includes a substrate and a mixture disposed on the substrate and including a carrier and a thermo-responsive polymer for capture and release of the rare cells. Also disclosed is a method for detecting rare cells in a fluid using a system including a substrate and a mixture that is disposed on the substrate. The mixture includes a carrier and a thermo-responsive polymer. The method includes providing the system and introducing a sample of fluid containing the rare cells into the system such that the sample interacts with the carrier for capturing the rare cells.

摘要: A compound for an organic light-emitting device represented by Formula 1: wherein, in Formula 1, A1 is selected from an aromatic group and an aromatic group having extended π-conjugation, R1 is selected from hydrogen and a C1-C60 alkyl group, L1 and L2 are each independently selected from —O—, —S—, a C1-C20 alkylene group, a C1-C20 oxyalkylene group, and a C1-C20 thioalkylene group; and a C1-C20 alkylene group, a C1-C20 oxyalkylene group, and a C1-C20 thioalkylene group, each substituted with at least one selected from a C1-C20 alkyl group and a C1-C20 alkoxy group, n1 and n2 are each independently selected from 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, R2 and R3 are each independently selected from hydrogen and a first cross-linking group, provided that at least one of R2 and R3 is the first cross-linking group, and X is selected from —F, —Cl, —Br, and —I.

摘要: A microarray includes a solid substrate having a surface, the surface having a plurality of binding spots and a plurality of reaction moieties bound to the binding spots. A reaction moiety includes a plurality of polyacetylene monomers, the polyacetylene monomers having a first coupling region and a second coupling region, the first coupling region having a first functional group operable to bind to the binding spot and the second coupling region comprising a second functional group operable to bind to an accessory molecule; and an accessory molecule having a binding region and an analyte reaction region, the analyte reaction region operable to selectively bind to the target analyte, and the binding region operable to bind to the second coupling region of the polyacetylene monomer. Upon binding a target analyte with the reaction moiety, a color change from the polyacetylene monomer occurs and the reaction moiety produces fluorescence.

摘要: Methods of increasing thermal conductivity of a bulk polymer are provided. The methods include contacting a bulk polyelectrolyte polymer comprising an ionizable repeating pendant group with an aqueous liquid having a pH that ionizes the pendant group and isotropically extend the polyelectrolyte polymer to an extended non-globular chain conformation. The polyelectrolyte polymer so treated thus exhibits a thermal conductivity of greater than or equal to about 0.6 W/m·K and optionally greater than or equal to about 1 W/m·K. In other aspects, the present disclosure provides a high thermal conductivity material comprising a bulk polyelectrolyte polymer bearing a repeating charged group and having an extended non-globular chain conformation and that exhibits a thermal conductivity of greater than or equal to about 0.6 W/m·K and optionally greater than or equal to about 1 W/m·K. The high thermal conductivity material may be used in electronic devices, including as housings/encapsulation and thermal interfaces.
