Abstract: A pendulum vibration damper in which a retainer is prevented from being moved or tilted in an axial direction. In the pendulum vibration damper, a restriction member formed on any one of the retainer and an inner face of the casing to be brought into contact to the other one of the retainer and the inner face of the casing when the retainer is moved or tilted in an axial direction of the rotary disc. A clearance between the casing and the rolling mass in the axial direction is shorter than a thickness of the retainer in the axial direction.

Abstract: A torsional vibration damper that can reduce collision noise of an inertia body when a rotary member is stopped, and a control device therefore. Therefore, when the engine is stopped, the inertia body will not be supported by only one of the rolling masses situated within the predetermined angle range.

Abstract: An apparatus for controlling an internal combustion engine is provided. An engine includes a compression release mechanism and a fuel injection valve. The compression release mechanism variably controls the opening degree of a valve member, and thereby connects the combustion chamber of the engine with at least one of the intake passage and the exhaust passage in order to release in-cylinder pressure during at least the compression stroke. A controller controls the fuel injection valve to execute coasting with the fuel cut off in which the fuel is cut off under a predetermined condition, and while executing coasting with the fuel cut off, controls the compression release mechanism to increase the opening degree of the valve member of the compression release mechanism as the speed of the engine is higher.
