    Abstract: A battery houses an electrode body inside a battery case including a bottomed cylindrical case body having an opening part, and a plate-like lid member inserted in the opening part so as to seal the opening. The opening part and a lid peripheral edge part are welded hermetically by an energy beam irradiated from outside in the thickness direction of the lid member. In a specific section, the inner peripheral surface of the opening part and the peripheral edge surface of the lid peripheral edge part are welded in close contact with each other. A bead at the specific section takes a fan shape having a central angle of 160 to 200 degrees in a cross section, and the center of the fan shape is positioned on the inner peripheral surface and the peripheral edge surface.

    Abstract: A fuel cell vehicle includes: a fuel cell; a storage portion to store produced water that is produced as a result of power generation by the fuel cell; a drainage valve for switching between a storage state and a drainage state of discharging the produced water from the storage portion to the outside of the fuel cell vehicle; a road information acquisition portion configured to acquire road information on roads on which the fuel cell vehicle travels; and a controller configured to drainage valve control operation. The controller sets a road region meeting a first condition defined in advance regarding road information and that permits the drainage state as a first road region where the drainage state is permitted, and the controller performs drainage if a drainage implementation condition defined in advance, including traveling of the fuel cell vehicle in the first road region, is fulfilled.

    Abstract: A battery includes an external terminal member and an insulating member on an outer surface of a lid member so that an interval between the insulating member and the lid member is smaller in a long side of the lid member than in a short side. A weld mark is formed over the entire circumference of the lid member to extend across the outer surface of the lid member and an open end face of the case body. The weld mark not only extends across the outer surface of the lid member and the open end face of the case body but also reaches an outer side surface of the case body in a zone of the long side of the lid member facing the insulating member, but does not reach the outer side surface of the case body in a zone except the former zone.

The flat wound electrode body has a flat portion, a first R portion, and a second R portion. The second R portion is provided on a bottom side of a battery case when a nonaqueous electrolytic solution is put into the battery case at least in a battery construction step. Opposite end portions of the second R portion in the winding axial direction are squashed in a thickness direction of the electrode body to a larger extent than opposite end portions of the first R portion in the winding axial direction.
