Abstract: A regeneration method of an all-solid-state battery includes a step of preparing an all-solid-state battery having a cathode that does not contain copper, and a step of executing overdischarge control of the all-solid-state battery. The overdischarge control is control of mitigating reaction variance that is variance in electrode reaction due to charging and discharging of the all-solid-state battery, by discharging the all-solid-state battery until a potential of the cathode becomes lower than an elution potential of copper.

Abstract: A battery diagnosis apparatus includes an SOC calculator, a ΔSOC obtaining unit, a largest block identification unit, and a diagnosis unit. The SOC calculator calculates an SOC for each parallel cell block included in a battery assembly based on an output from a battery sensor that detects a state of the battery assembly. When charging or discharging of the battery assembly is carried out, the ΔSOC obtaining unit obtains ΔSOC for each parallel cell block. The largest block identification unit identifies a largest block in a diagnosis target. When a degree of deviation between ΔSOC of the largest block and a ΔSOC reference value exceeds a prescribed level, the diagnosis unit determines that abnormality has occurred in the largest block in the diagnosis target.

Abstract: A vehicle includes: an engine; an exhaust pipe through which exhaust gas from the engine is released; a battery pack located near the exhaust pipe; and an ECU that executes, during limp-home traveling of the vehicle, control in which the battery pack is not charged and discharged, and output suppression control in which output of the engine is suppressed. In the output suppression control, when the catalyst temperature is above a threshold value, the ECU suppresses the output of the engine, as compared to when the catalyst temperature is below the threshold value, while maintaining a state in which the engine can output power.

Abstract: A battery pack includes a plurality of modules connected in series to one another. Each of the plurality of modules includes a plurality of cells connected in parallel to one another. If a first condition and a second condition are satisfied, an ECU diagnoses an abnormality in which a current path of a cell included in any module breaks. The first condition is a condition that the voltage difference between the maximum voltage and the minimum voltage among a plurality of voltage values is less than a reference value before execution of plug-in charging control, each of the plurality of voltage values being detected by a corresponding one of a plurality of voltage sensors. The second condition is a condition that the voltage difference between the maximum voltage and a voltage is more than or equal to the reference value after execution of the plug-in charging control.

Abstract: A battery system is configured to estimate a presence or absence of deterioration of a battery. This deterioration is a phenomenon in which an internal resistance of the secondary battery increases due to uneven ion concentration in a non-aqueous electrolyte. The battery system includes a voltage sensor and an ECU. The voltage sensor detects a voltage value of the battery. The ECU is configured to perform a calculation process and an estimation process. The calculation process includes a process of calculating, in accordance with the voltage value, an evaluation value for evaluating a degree of polarization mitigation after charging or discharging of the battery. The estimation process includes a process of estimating the presence or absence of the deterioration in accordance with the evaluation value.
