    Abstract: A method is provided for controlling electrical load on a power grid from a load facility using demand response. The method includes accessing memory storing computer-readable program code for decision analysis of a specified time interval for a demand-response (DR) event. The method also includes executing the computer-readable program code, via a processor, to cause an apparatus to at least make a decision to participate in or opt out of the DR event. This includes the apparatus receiving values of variables that describe occupancy and usage of the load facility for one or more time intervals. The apparatus applies the values to an algorithm that maps the variables to a decision to participate in or opt out of the DR event for the specified time interval. And the apparatus automatically notifies an operator responsible for the DR event of the decision at least when the decision is to opt out.

    Abstract: A method of controlling a discharge air reset in an heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR system includes determining, by a controller, a space temperature in a conditioned space, a setpoint temperature of the conditioned space, and an operating mode of a variable-air-volume (VAV) box for the conditioned space. The controller determines whether the operating mode of the VAV box matches an operating mode of an HVACR unit. A deviation from the setpoint temperature of the conditioned space for the VAV box for the conditioned is calculated in response to determining the VAV box is in a same mode as the HVACR unit. A statistical deviation from the setpoint temperature of the conditioned space is calculated. A discharge air setpoint temperature is determined based on the statistical deviation from the setpoint temperature of the conditioned space. The controller sets the discharge air setpoint temperature of the HVACR unit using the determined discharge air setpoint temperature.

    Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods are described for updating firmware in building and equipment controllers. Several embodiments include a fleet manager configured to simplify and automate remote firmware updates to connected (e.g., cloud-connected) embedded equipment and building control devices. The updates may be performed immediately or scheduled, such as based on user preferences, constraints, and conditions and/or device parameters and capabilities. In many embodiments, the fleet manager may engage in an interactive process, such as with a client, to schedule and perform updates.
