    摘要: A character compression-decompression method for printers in which dots are added before compression of a character so as to generate a character in which the same dot pattern continues. The character is compressed and then is stored in a character geernator. Upon printing the character, the compressed character is read from the character generator and is then expanded so as to return the compressed character to the character before compression. The dots added when the character was compressed are removed from the expanded character. Thus, a character which cannot be compressed because the same pattern does not continue therein can be compressed by a simple compression method, and a large number of dot matrix characters can be stored in the character generator.

    摘要: A vehicular ultrasonic sensor apparatus serving as a distance sensor apparatus is equipped with a sensor unit, a case body, a bezel, and a retainer. The retainer includes a pair of pawl members. The pair of pawl members is equipped with a stopper portion. The ultrasonic sensor apparatus is inserted into an attachment hole of the bumper such that a connector portion of the case body is first inserted. When the retainer passes through the attachment hole, the pair of pawl members are elastically deformed. After passing through the attachment hole, the pair of pawl members are elastically restored, and the stopper portion is caught at an inner circumference edge of an exit side of the attachment hole.

    摘要: A cover member of an ultrasonic sensor has a first engagement portion and a second engagement portion, which are respectively engaged with a third engagement portion and a fourth engagement portion of a sensor body. The engagement portions are arranged in such a manner that a force applied to the cover member due to an engagement between the first engagement portion and the third engagement portion and a force applied to the cover member due to an engagement between the second engagement portion and the fourth engagement portion respectively have opposite directions to be substantially countervailed when the sensor body is attached to the cover member. Thus, the cover member can be restricted from slanting when the sensor body is fixed to the cover member.

    摘要: A method of automatically inserting a printing paper in a hopper of an automatic paper feeder or a manual insertion printing paper inserted from a manual paper input slot. Upon receiving an instruction to insert a printing paper by a printer, a platen is first rotated. Thereupon, provided the presence of the printing paper is detected by a sensor even with the platen being rotated by a prescribed amount, a paper feed motor of the automatic paper feeder is rotated for obtaining a printing paper from the hopper. While, provided the presence of a printing paper is detected before the platen is rotated by the prescribed amount, the paper feed motor is not rotated, it being assumed that the manual insertion of a printing paper has been already performed. After detected the presence of the printing paper, the platen is rotated by a prescribed amount to cause the printing paper to be moved to a position where a first line of the printing paper faces the face of the printing head.

    摘要: A novel noncrystalline fibrous potassium titanate and a process for preparing said titanate fiber by calcination of a mixture of potassium compound(s) and titanium compound(s) at a temperature of from 800.degree. C. to the melting point of the mixture to obtain whiskers formed on the surface thereof; and an improved process for preparing fibrous potassium hexatitanate which comprises calcining hydrated fibrous potassium titanate at a temperature of 500.degree. to 900.degree. C. or which comprises kneading a mixture of potassium compound(s) and titanium compound(s), and calcining the thus kneaded mixture at a temperature of 1150.degree. to 1300.degree. C. to obtain fibers from the inside of the bulk of the calcined mixture are described.
