A room temperature curable organopolysiloxane composition comprising (A) a diorganopolysiloxane end-capped with a hydroxy or alkoxy group, (B) a silane crosslinker, (C) an aluminum hydroxide powder surface treated with a silane, siloxane or silazane, and (D) a platinum catalyst is shelf stable and smoothly extrudable prior to curing, and cures into a silicone rubber having long-lasting self-extinguishing properties. The composition is best suited as an adhesive to electrical and electronic parts.

An RTV organopolysiloxane composition is provided comprising (A) a diorganopolysiloxane capped at both ends of its molecular chain with hydroxysilyl, alkoxysilyl or alkoxyalkoxysilyl and having a viscosity of 20-1,000,000 mPa-s at 25° C., (B) a bis(alkoxysilylalkyl)disiloxane compound, and (C) a curing catalyst. The composition is fast curable into a silicone rubber which establishes a firm adhesion to substrates with an active surface such as float glass and maintains the adhesion even in a harsh environment as immersed in hot water over a long term.

The composition cures at room temperature to form a coating which is non-toxic, non-detrimental to the environment, and effective for preventing aquatic organisms from depositing and growing thereon over a long term.

A room temperature curable fluoropolymer composition is provided which comprises (A) a straight chain fluoropolymer compound containing, in its backbone chain, at least one structure selected from a perfluoroalkylene structure and a perfluoropolyether structure and having a hydrolyzable silyl group at both ends of its molecular chain, (B) an organic compound having at least one carbonyl group per molecule, and (C) one compound selected from (C-1) an organic compound having at least one primary amino group per molecule and (C-2) a compound having at least one proton per molecule and having an acid dissociation constant (pKa) in water of 2 or less. Another room temperature curable composition is also provided which comprises said (A) component, (B') an organosilicon compound having at least two silanol groups per molecule, and (C') a condensation accelerator. These compositions are not only excellent in heat resistance, weatherability, electrical properties, processability, chemical resistance, solvent resistance and oil repellant properties, but also excellent in fast curability and deep-portion curability. A novel compound which is suitable as said fluoropolymer compound (A) is further provided.
