    摘要: A picture reproducing apparatus transmits coded picture data and an algorithm for reproducing (decoding) the coded picture data and reconfigures a decoding processor in accordance with the received algorithm. The apparatus includes a unit for receiving the picture reproducing algorithm described in a logical description language, performing picture reproduction in accordance with the received algorithm, and reconfiguring a picture decoder in accordance with the received algorithm, a unit for adding a test routine to the algorithm in order to perform an operation test of the received algorithm in a program download manner, and a picture encoder for selecting an optimum coding system for each input frame and transmitting a coding system descriptor code.

An image converter (101) creates image data in the format designated by the presence/absence of reduction and the presence/absence of joining. A 3D information creator (103) creates 3D information necessary for displaying the image as a 3-dimensional image by formatting the presence/absence of reduction, the presence/absence of joining and 2D select. A multiplexer (104) converts image data and 3D information in a predetermined format and outputs them to the outside. In this way, it is possible to make the image data for 3-dimensional display versatile and select an arbitrary viewpoint image efficiently.

An encoder (104) encodes integrated image data. A multiplexer (105) multiplexes the coded data and the 3D image control information and outputs them. A filename deciding unit (106) decides the name of a file when multiplexed data is recorded as a file. A storage directory deciding unit (107) decides the directory in which a file to be recorded is stored. A file creator (108) records a file with the decided filename under the decided storage directory. Thus, the distinction between 3-dimensional display image data and 2-dimensional image data can be clarified.

    摘要: A managing method for a multimedia file includes the steps of: generating index information including a source identifier expressing a source having one or more of management units associated with the multimedia file as a title frame, positions of a leading frame and tail frame of the title frame in the source, and a position of a reference frame for decoding the leading frame; and recording the index information onto a recording medium, attaching the index information to the multimedia file. The managing method for a multimedia file may include the steps of: causing a user to specify one or more of the management units associated with the multimedia file as a title frame; generating index information in which a bit stream obtained by encoding a specified title frame is embedded, and recording the index information onto a recording medium, attaching the index information to the multimedia file.
