摘要： A display apparatus is provided with a backlight and a driving apparatus for driving the backlight, the driving apparatus including: a switching unit which performs a switching operation to selectively supply driving power to the backlight in accordance with a driving signal; a signal synthesizer which outputs a synthesized signal by synthesizing a current control signal which controls a level of a backlight current flowing in the backlight and a dimming signal which controls dimming of the backlight; and a driver which generates the driving signal so that the backlight current flowing in the backlight reaches a predetermined target level based on the synthesized signal, outputs the driving signal to the switching unit, and controls the dimming of the backlight based on the synthesized signal.

The display apparatus includes a light emitting module including a light emitting unit including one or more light emitting elements which are electrically connected to each other; and a board on which the light emitting unit is disposed. The board includes a first terminal which is connected to a first end of the light emitting unit, and a ground portion which connects a second end of the light emitting unit to a ground. Therefore, it is possible to design a thinner BLU, thereby making a display device slimmer.

The luminescence driving apparatus drives a plurality of light-emitting units and includes: a voltage sensor which senses internal voltages of the plurality of light-emitting units; a current sensor which senses internal currents of the plurality of light-emitting units; a sensing signal generator which receives the internal voltages of the plurality of light-emitting units from the voltage sensor to generate an overvoltage sensing signal; a controller which, if it is determined that an overvoltage state has occurred, according to a level of the overvoltage sensing signal, searches for at least one of the plurality of light-emitting units in which the overvoltage state has occurred, according to levels of the internal currents sensed by the current sensor; and a protector which performs an overvoltage protection (OVP) operation with respect to the searched light-emitting unit.

The power supply device includes: a power factor corrector which corrects a power factor of an initial power; a standby power supply unit which is connected to the power factor corrector, the standby power supply unit including a transformer which converts an input power received from the power factor corrector to a predetermined level of a standby power and comprises first and second coils; a sensor which is coupled to the second coil of the transformer and detects a level of an induced power corresponding to the input power; and a power supply controller which determines whether the level of the induced power exceeds a critical value when a system-on signal is received, activates the power factor corrector to correct the power factor of the initial power if the level of the induced power exceeds the critical value, and supplies a driving power to the system based on the level of the induced power detected after the power factor corrector is activated.
