    摘要: In a wavelength conversion laser, a laser crystal is pumped by light and the wavelength of a solid state laser beam emitted from the laser crystal is converted by a nonlinear optical crystal having a periodic domain reversal structure and disposed in a resonator. A +c-face and a -c-face of the nonlinear optical crystal are electrically connected to each other at least at portions of the faces close to the optical path of the solid state laser beam.

    摘要: In a laser light multiplexing apparatus: a collimating optical system collimates light beams emitted from semiconductor lasers so that the slow axes of the light beams become coplanar, and optical axes of the light beams become parallel to each other; a light beam rearrangement optical system constituted by prisms respectively arranged in correspondence with the light beams rearranges the light beams in such a manner that directions of the fast axes of the light beams are changed at different locations along a direction in which the light beams propagate, and the fast axes of the light beams become coplanar; and a convergence optical system converges a bundle of the light beams rearranged by the light beam rearrangement optical system, in directions of the fast axes and the slow axes of the light beams, and makes the converged bundle of the light beams enter an optical fiber.

    摘要: In an optical wavelength converting apparatus, a fundamental wave impinges upon a crystal of a nonlinear optical material, the type II of phase matching between the fundamental wave and its second harmonic is effected, and the second harmonic of the fundamental wave is thereby radiated out of the optical wavelength converting apparatus. Two crystals constituted of the same material are employed as the crystal. The two crystals have equal lengths and are located in orientations such that corresponding optic axes may be shifted 90.degree. from each other. The optical wavelength converting apparatus yields the second harmonic having the maximum possible output power and yet can be kept small in size and low in cost.

    摘要: A solid-state laser having a laser resonator which includes an etalon to allow a single longitudinal mode of oscillation to occur in the width of the wavelength which permits the oscillation of the medium of the solid-state laser. The etalon is interposed in the resonator which is constituted of a surface of a resonant mirror and one end surface of a solid-state laser medium, and wherein the interval of the longitudinal modes of the etalon is set to be in the range from approximately one half to one width of the oscillation wavelength of the medium of a solid-state laser. At the same time, the ratio, with respect to the optical length, of the etalon to the resonator is selected to be about a half integer.

    摘要: A light guide member comprises three optical blocks. The first optical block is provided with a light input face positioned close to and approximately in parallel with a stimulable phosphor sheet carrying a radiation image stored therein, and a light output face parallel with the light input face. The second optical block is provided with a light input face slightly spaced apart from the light output face of the first optical block, a dichroic optical plane extending upward from one end of the light input face at an angle of approximately 45.degree., and a light output face extending downward from an upper end of the dichroic optical plane. The dichroic optical plane transmits stimulating rays and reflects light emitted by the stimulable phosphor sheet upon exposure to stimulating rays. The third optical block is provided with a light input face slightly spaced apart from the light output face of the second optical block, and upper and lower total reflection planes extending horizontally from upper and lower ends of the light input face.

    摘要: An optical wavelength converter device comprises a cladding and a waveguide disposed in the cladding. The waveguide is made of an organic nonlinear optical material such as PRA which has a first refractive index with respect to the wavelength of the wavelength-converted wave and a second refractive index with respect to the wavelength of the fundamental wave, the first refractive index being lower than the second refractive index. Alternatively, the first and second refractive indexes are substantially the same as each other, and the cladding is made of a material which has a third refractive index with respect to the wavelength of the wavelength-converted wave and a fourth refractive index with respect to the wavelength of the fundamental wave, the third refractive index being substantially the same as the fourth refractive index. The effective refractive index with respect to the fundamental wave which is guided in a zero-order mode and the effective refractive index with respect to the wavelength-converted wave which is guided in the zero-order mode are equal to each other.

    摘要: A fiber Cerenkov-type optical wavelength converter module includes an optical wavelength converter device comprising an optical fiber including a cladding having a first refractive index and a core of a nonlinear optical material disposed in the cladding, said core having a second refractive index higher than the first refractive index, whereby the optical fiber converts the wavelength of a fundamental wave introduced into the core and radiates a wavelength-converted wave into the cladding. A laser beam is emitted from a semiconductor laser and applied as the fundamental wave to the optical wavelength converter device. The temperature of the optical wavelength converter device, or the temperatures of the optical wavelength converter device and the semiconductor laser, are regulated such that the tolerances specified for the length of the optical fiber, the diameter of the core, and other dimensions can be increased. Therefore, the optical wavelength converter device and the optical wavelength converter module can be fabricated with greater ease.

    摘要: A radiation image read-out apparatus comprises a stimulating ray optical system for exposing a stimulable phosphor carrying a radiation image stored therein to stimulating rays, a photodetector for detecting light emitted by the stimulable phosphor upon exposure to stimulating rays, and a light guide member for guiding the emitted light to the photodetector. A dichroic optical plane which selectively reflects either the stimulating rays or the light emitted by the stimuable phosphor and selectively passes the other is positioned in an optical path of the light guide member. The stimulating ray optical system is positioned so that the stimulating rays directly impinge upon the dichroic optical plane and come out of a light input face of the light guide member positioned close to the stimulable phosphor by being reflected by or passed through the dichroic optical plane. The light input face of the light guide member is preferably provided with a film for preventing reflection of stimulating rays.
