摘要： A vacuum envelope of a cathode ray tube comprises a faceplate and a rear envelope bonded to the faceplate. The rear envelope includes a rear plate opposed to the faceplate, a side wall, a plurality of funnels extending from the rear plate, partition walls set up on the rear plate, and necks bonded individually to the funnels. The rear envelope is formed by connecting a plurality of miniature envelopes to one another. Each miniature envelope includes at least one funnel, and is molded by pressing.

摘要： An image display apparatus includes an envelope which has a front substrate and a rear substrate opposed to each other and individually having peripheral edge portions sealed together. A sealed portion is sealed by a sealing member. the sealing member has electrical conductivity and melts when supplied with current. After the sealing member in the sealed portion is supplied with current and melted during manufacture, the current supply is stopped to cool and solidify the sealing member, whereupon the respective peripheral edge portions of the front substrate and the rear substrate are selected together.

摘要： A vacuum envelope of a flat display device comprises a front substrate and a rear substrate opposed to each other and a rectangular frame body provided between respective peripheral portions of the front substrate and the rear substrate. The frame body has projections that protrude outward from individual corner portions. In manufacture, the projections are nipped and pulled outward, and the frame body is positioned with respect to the substrates and joined thereto with a longitudinal tension applied to each side of the frame body.

摘要： The manufacturing method of a flat panel display comprises facing a faceplate, which has a phosphor screen, to a rear plate, which has an electron emitting element, with a predetermined gap, and joining. At least one of a rear plate (20) and a faceplate (10) is accommodated in an electron beam cleaning chamber (42, 46), and, an electron beam (53) is irradiated onto the rear plate (20) or the faceplate (10) from an electron beam generator (52), which is disposed in the electron beam cleaning chamber (42, 46), in a vacuum atmosphere. Thereby, a surface adsorbed gas is sufficiently degassed. Thus, by sufficiently degassing the surface adsorbed gas in the display, the inside of a vacuum vessel as an envelope can be maintained in a high vacuum state.

摘要： A vacuum envelope of a cathode-ray tube includes a panel and a funnel section opposed to the panel. The funnel section has two funnels each having a cone section. Each of the funnels is formed by cutting one side portion of a base funnel which is formed by pressing. The two funnels are joined together at sections thereof so as to form the funnel section and also joined to the panel into the vacuum envelope. A neck containing an electron gun is joined to each of the cone sections. A phosphor screen formed on the inner surface has two scanning regions which are divided scanned by electron beams emitted from the electron guns.

摘要： An envelope of a cathode ray tube includes a substantially rectangular flat face plate, and a substantially rectangular flat rear plate opposed to the face plate with a side wall being interposed therebetween, a plurality of funnels extending from the rear plate. A plurality of necks extend from the respective funnels, and a plurality of electron guns are respectively arranged in the necks. A plurality of plate support portions are arranged between the rear plate and the face plate, so as to support the rear plate and the face plate against an atmospheric pressure. Each plate support portion includes a support body made of glass which is integrally welded with the rear plate and extends from the rear plate toward the face plate, and a distal end portion jointed to the extending end of the support body and being in contact with the face plate.

摘要： A method for etching a differential metal gate structure on a substrate is described. The differential metal gate structure includes a metal gate layer overlying a high dielectric constant (high-k) dielectric layer, wherein the metal gate layer comprises a different thickness at different regions on the substrate. The metal gate layer is patterned by using a plasma etching process, wherein at least one etch step includes forming plasma using a halogen-containing gas and at least one etch step includes forming plasma using an additive gas having as atomic constituents C, H, and F.
