    摘要: A gas generator for air bags for use in an air bag system for safely protecting a driver and riders in a vehicle from shock from collisions at low cost, while preventing slag in a gas flowing outside. The gas generator includes a housing (3) formed by a side cylinder (1b) with a plurality of gas exhaust openings (8) the housing being closed at its ends by an upper cap (1a) and a lower cap (2a); an igniting device (16), provided in the housing (3) at a center portion thereof; gas generating agents (6), provided in the housing (3) at a location radially outside of the igniting device (16), to be burnt to generate gas; a cooling/filtering member (7) provided in the housing (3) at a location radially outside of the gas generating agents (6) to enclose the gas generating agents and extending from the side of the upper cap (1a) to the side of the lower cap (2a); and an annular projection (50) for preventing the gas generated by the burning of the gas generating agents (6) from flowing toward an end portion of the cooling/filtering member (7). The annular projection (50) is integrally formed on at least one of the upper cap (1a) and the lower cap (2a) so as to abut with an inner peripheral surface of the cooling/filtering member (7).

    摘要: An apparatus for actuating a plurality of safety devices equipped in a vehicle for protecting occupants from an impact of a collision has a plurality of squibs (4,5) connected in series with each other so as to form a series circuit (6) and ignited by a current flowing through and conformed to one and the same standard. A power source (3) supplies electrical energy to the series circuit (6), and a collision detector (7) allows a current to flow from the power source (3) to said series circuit (6) when detecting a collision. A required energy for igniting all of the squibs (4,5) is thus supplied before the series circuit (6) opens electrically at one squib.

    摘要: The present invention provides a gas generating agent for an air bag including a fuel component of nitrogenous organic compound and an oxidizing agent as its major components, to which at least one metal nitride or metal carbide that is allowed to react with a metallic component contained in the fuel component or the oxidizing agent to form slag is added, thus providing the effects of: solving the slag collecting problem which stands in the way of commercially practicing the nitrogenous organic compound base fuels; promoting the size reduction of the gas generator through the full use of high rate of gasification of the nitrogenous organic compound base fuels; and providing a gas generating agent molded member which is strong and stable with age by improving heat resistant properties and formability of the nitrogenous organic compound base fuels which are poor compared with the metallic compound azide of an inorganic matter.

    摘要: In a power supply circuit for operating an electroluminescent (EL) element comprising a DC power supply, an inverter connected across the power supply, and the EL element connected to the inverter, an inductor is inserted between the inverter and the EL element wherein an AC voltage is applied from the inverter through the inductor to the EL element to emit light. Another EL operating circuit includes a DC power supply, an inverter, a transformer, and a bipolar capacitor connected in this order and an AC power output on a secondary winding of the transformer is applied to an EL element to generate light. Both the circuits enables a noticeable luminance increase and power saving.
