    摘要: The present invention intends to provide a manufacturing method for a plasma display panel, so as to overcome problems associated with a withstanding voltage of a dielectric glass layer. Glass particles have angular shapes after grinding with a grinder, but as the surface of them has been melted, they are converted into spheroids. Those glass particles can get wet evenly, so that a binder evenly adheres to the surface of a glass particle when a glass paste including the glass particles is applied to the surface of a substrate. In this case, there is a scarce possibility for a gas, generated by baking the binder, to remain in the form of bubbles in a formed dielectric glass layer. There are fewer bubbles remaining in a completed dielectric glass layer than in a dielectric glass layer than in a glass layer made from angular glass particles.

    摘要: In a plasma display panel, a partition wall defining a discharge space is formed of a thermal-sprayed film formed by thermal spraying of a partition wall material. A process for forming such a partition wall includes the steps of forming a photosensitive coating layer on a substrate; forming an opening having a prescribed pattern in the photosensitive coating layer; depositing the partition wall material to a prescribed height at least inside the opening by a thermal spraying technique, thereby forming the thermal-sprayed film; removing a portion of the thermal-sprayed film bulging out from a surface of the photosensitive coating layer by polishing; and removing the photosensitive coating layer to obtain the partition wall having a prescribed shape.

This plasma display has a good luminance efficacy, is less tending to yellowing of glass and deterioration of phosphors, and is manufactured at a low cost. The dielectric layers and ribs of the PDP are made from a silicone resin containing polysiloxane bond. Preferably, the silicon resin should have siloxane bond joined with methyl group, ethyl group or phenyl group. It is also preferable that a sealing member is made from a silicone resin.

Ag electrodes are provided on the metal oxide layer. This provides a plasma display panel with high image quality since the panel is prevented from migration of Ag between electrodes, thus having the glass substrate prevented from being tinted yellow. As a result, the plasma display panel at high quality can be implemented using the glass substrate.

    摘要: The present invention aims to provide a method of producing a plasma display panel in which the fluorescent substance layer or the reflection layer is formed easily and accurately even for a minute cell structure, and in which the fluorescent substance layer or the reflection layer is formed evenly in the channels between the partition walls formed in stripes, or such a layer is formed also on the sides of the partition walls. To achieve this purpose, a fluorescent substance layer or a reflection layer is formed by applying a fluorescent substance ink or a reflection material ink continuously onto the channels, the ink being spouted out from a nozzle which runs along the partition walls. The nozzle may be directed to one side of the plurality of partition walls while running. Pressure may be put upon the ink having been applied onto the channels so that the ink sticks to both sides of the partition walls. The ink may be continuously spouted out from a nozzle while a bridge is formed between the nozzle and both sides of the partition walls by surface tension of the ink. A plate with a plurality of partition walls and channels in between may be formed so that adsorption of the sides of the channels against the ink is higher than that of the bottom of the channels.

    摘要: The present invention intends to provide a manufacturing method for a PDP that can continuously apply phosphor ink for a long time and can accurately and evenly produce phosphor layers even when the cell construction is very fine. To do so, phosphor ink is continuously expelled from a nozzle while the nozzle moves relative to channels between partition walls formed on a plate so as to scan and apply phosphor ink to the channels. While doing so the path taken by the nozzle within each channel between a pair of partition walls is adjusted based on position information for the channel. When phosphor particles is successively applied to a plurality of channels, phosphor ink is continuously expelled from the nozzle even when the nozzle is positioned away from the channels. The phosphor ink is composed of: phosphor particles that have an average particle diameter of 0.5 to 5 μm; a mixed solvent in which materials selected from a group consisting of terpineol, butyl carbitol acetate, butyl carbitol, pentandiol, and limonene are mixed; and a binder that is an ethylene group polymer or ethyl cellulose containing at least 49% of ethoxy group (—OC2H5) cellulose molecules. After dispersion a charge-removing material is added to the phosphor ink.

    摘要: A PDP does not suffer from dielectric breakdown even though a dielectric layer is thin, with the problems of conventional PDPs, such as cracks appearing in the glass substrates during the production of the PDP being avoided. To do so, the surface of silver electrodes of the PDP is coated with a 0.1-10 &mgr;m layer of a metallic oxide, on whose surface OH groups exist, such as ZnO, ZrO2, MgO, TiO2, Al2O3, and Cr2O3. The metallic oxide layer is then coated with the dielectric layer. It is preferable to form the metallic oxide layer with the CVD method. The surface of a metallic electrode can be coated with a metallic oxide, which is then coated with a dielectric layer. The dielectric layer can be made of a metallic oxide with a vacuum process method or the plasma thermal spraying method. The dielectric layer formed on electrodes with the CVD method is remarkably thin and flawless. When the dielectric layer is formed with the vacuum process method or the plasma spraying method, warping and cracks conventionally caused by baking the dielectric layer are prevented. Here, borosilicate glass including 6.5% or less by weight of alkali can be used as the glass substrate.
