摘要: The present embodiments introduce a new type of random access point in video bitstreams that can be used for random access operations but can be represented in encoded form at a lower bit-cost as compared to IRAP pictures. The random access point is a dependent random access point (DRAP) picture that is encoded and decoded using an IRAP picture and/or a previous, according to a decoding order, DRAP picture as sole reference picture(s) for the DRAP picture. The DRAP picture is encoded as a trailing picture that may be used for reference and constitutes a random access point in a video bitstream.

摘要: A multi-layer or multi-view video is encoded by encoding one of a picture in a first layer or view and a picture in a second layer or view coinciding at a switching point defining a switch between the first layer or view and the second layer or view. The other of the picture in the first layer or view and the picture in the second layer or view coinciding at the switching point is encoded as a skip picture. The embodiments thereby reduce complexity of encoding and decoding multi-layer or multi-view video having a switching point and reduce the number of bits required for representing encoded pictures coinciding at the switching point.

摘要: QP control information valid for a block of samples is parsed. A QP to use for the block of samples is derived according to a first QP derivation process independent on the QP control information if residual data of the block of samples is not color transformed and according to a second QP derivation process dependent on the QP control information if the residual data of the block of samples is color transformed. The embodiments thereby decouple QP parameters for blocks of samples that are coded with color transform and those that are coded without color transform. This decoupling achieves better flexibility during encoding and results in better visual quality.

摘要: At least one mode signaling syntax element is provided based on an encoded representation of a picture in a video sequence. The at least one mode signaling syntax element is employed to determine whether at least one final reference picture list is the same for all slices of a same slice type in the picture. The at least one mode signaling syntax element thereby signals to a decoder that it does not necessarily have to repeat computationally complex reference picture list construction functions for each slice in the picture.

摘要: A method of encoding a video sequence is provided. The method (300) comprises including (301) Network Abstraction Layer (NAL) unit type information with each picture of the video sequence, and identifying (302) a current picture which is a leading picture of exactly one Clean Random Access (CRA) picture. The current picture is identified using the NAL unit type information, e.g., using a specific NAL unit type which is reserved for leading pictures of exactly one CRA picture. Further, a method of decoding a coded video sequence, a method of extracting a sub-bitstream from a coded video sequence, a method of processing a coded video sequence, corresponding computer programs and computer program products, a video encoder, a video decoder, and network elements are provided.

摘要: A length indicator (23) associated with an encoded representation (20) of a slice (3) is parsed. The length indicator (23) is indicative of a length of an extension field (24) present in a slice header (21) of the encoded representation (20). A decoder (40) can then determine to ignore, during decoding of the encoded representation (20), any value of the extension field (24) in the slice header (21) where these values are identified based on the length indicator (23). As a consequence, extension fields (23) can be added to slice headers (21) and still enable legacy decoders (40) to correctly decode the encoded representations (20).

摘要: An encoder calculates an indication to a previous reference picture having temporal identity of zero. The encoder creates a first set of indicators to the previous reference picture, to all reference pictures in a first reference picture set of the previous reference picture, and to all pictures following the previous reference picture in decoding order and precede the current picture in decoding order. The encoder sets a flag for picture order count cycle, when a long term reference picture (LTRP) has least significant bits (LSBs) of a picture order count, for which more than one picture in the first set share same value of the LSBs of picture order count as the LTRP. The decoder obtains LSB of a picture order count for a LTRP in a reference picture set of the current picture. The decoder concludes non-compliant bitstream based on indications provided by the flag.

摘要: A method performed by a video encoder for encoding a current picture belonging to a temporal level identified by a temporal_id. The method includes determining a Reference Picture Set (RPS) for the current picture indicating reference pictures that are kept in a decoded picture buffer (DPB) when decoding the current picture, and when the current picture is a temporal switching point. The method further comprises operating to ensure that the RPS of the current picture includes no picture having a temporal_id greater than or equal to the temporal_id of the current picture.

摘要: A POC recalculation value is retrieved by a decoder from an encoded representation of a RAP picture in a base layer of a video stream comprising pictures in multiple layers. POC values of reference pictures in a DPB of the decoder are recalculated using the POC recalculation value. By signaling the POC recalculation value in the RAP picture, which enables the decoder to correctly handle video streams with non-aligned RAP pictures.
