摘要: Systems, apparatus and methods are described for providing information access to network devices. A directory server registers identification information about a first network device coupled to a first network. The first network and the directory server may be coupled to a second network, which may include a wide area network, public network, or the Internet. The identification information may include a network address of the first network device on the first network, or a network address of the first network on the second network. The directory server may receive and process requests for identification information about registered network devices, and may selectively reply to the requests based on status information of the first network device.

摘要: A system for providing cable support may be provided. The system may comprise a conductor core, a filler that may provide integral core support, and armor. The conductor core may comprise at least one conductor. The filler may be applied around at least a portion of the conductor core. The armor may be applied around at least a portion of the filler. The applied armor may be configured to cause the filler to apply a strong enough force on an exterior of the conductor core configured to keep the conductor core from slipping down an interior of the filler due to a gravitational force. In addition, the applied armor may be configured to cause the filler to apply a strong enough force on an interior of the armor configured to keep a combination of the conductor core and the filler from slipping down the interior of the armor due to the gravitational force.

摘要: Methods and apparatus are provided for networked printing systems that include a client computer coupled via a print server to a plurality of network printers. Each network printer is coupled to an associated accounting server that requires pre-print information for billing purposes. The client computer sends the print server a print request that designates one of the network printers to print a document. The print server creates a print job based on the document, determines the pre-print information required by the associated accounting server, and prompts a user of the client computer to provide the required information. The print server creates a pre-print message based on the user's response in accordance with a pre-print protocol, and then sends the pre-print message to the associated accounting server. If the accounting server authorizes the print job, the print server sends the print job to the designated network printer for printing. After the print job has been printed, the print server receives print summary information from the designated network printer, and then creates a post-print message based on the print summary information in accordance with a post-print protocol. The print server sends the post-print message to the associated accounting server, which may use the post-print information to bill the user for printing the print job.

摘要: A communication system and method are configured to perform context sensitive transfers of a communication session. In one embodiment of the invention, a communication session between a calling party and a receiving party in which the communication session includes a dialog between the calling party and the receiving party is transferred from the receiving party to a third party where the dialog continues between the calling party and the third party. In another embodiment of the invention, an automated application intercepts messages of a communication session, processes the messages, and responds to what was processed in real-time while the communication session between a calling party and a receiving party continues. In a further embodiment of the invention, a communication system sends an event notification to interested parties and allows a subsequent communication session to be initiated from the delivered notification.
